    Global ranking

I was wondering how your score goes up? I'm now ranked 150th with 654k 'points', but how exactly do I increase this score a lot? Improving times? Less faults?

    Re: Global ranking

each track, tournament and skill game gives you 0-200000 overall ranking points depending on your result. Medal limits are used as fixed reference points in the ranking point scale. This means that gold medal is worth the same in each skill games. In racing modes medal scores to ranking points function varies a bit in different difficulties because of a fault factor calculation. Each fault multiplies your ranking points from that track by a factor between 0.1-0.9 depending on difficulty. Calculation is also done so that slowest 0 fault run always gives you more points than the fastest 1 fault run. This means it is extremely important to cut down your fault count if you want to have a good ranking. In tournament modes the more difficult tournaments don't give you much ranking points unless you manage do then with only small number of faults.

    Re: Global ranking

I've moved up to about 800ish. Huzzah!

Got a platinum faultless run on King of the Hill. And a faultless run on Technique. Which gave me a happy.

So just 0-faulting a beginner track will give you more score than finishing an extreme track, even though the latter is much harder? That doesn't seem fair. It also doesn't give one much incentive to improve ones extreme performances (tracks or tournament) since the score will only be marginally improved anyway (unless you're a Trials master).

I do wish the complete algorithm was made public though. This because I want to know on what tracks/skills/tournaments I should concentrate improving in order to become #1 on my friends list. Spending hours on a track if it doesn't pay off seems like a waste in that regard. But maybe someone here have an idea on where I should start? These are my choices:

    1. Get Gold on skills
    2. Get Gold on Medium tournaments
    3. Get Silver on Hard tournaments
    4. Get Gold on Hard tracks
    5. Get Silver on Extreme tracks/tournament
    6. Get Platinum on Easy tracks/tournaments
    7. Get Patinum on Medium tracks

Everybody and their mom is going to Platinum the beginner tracks, so in a way, the hard and extreme tracks are more valuable, as fewer people will have Platinum on those ones, making your rank higher.

Where do we see our global overall ranking anyway?
