    Lighter02's Map Extravaganza!

Alright folks, it's time I joined in on the fun. I played a few maps by other folks and stuff, and we have some pretty talented mapmakers out there.

That said, I wanted to get my hands dirty too and spent a good 15 hours - at least - creating my first map.

It's a good, hard map but tested to ensure that the times are possible. It isn't extreme, but there were moments where I thought to myself while testing, "This landing just ISN'T POSSIBLE!"

I had a blast making it, and I hope you guys enjoy playing it. Add my gamertag, "Lighter02", to play my first map, titled, "Urban Decay."

Leave feedback as well, because I wouldn't mind taking the time to create more.

fr sent mate. Looking forward to checking out the track.

EDIT: Just played through it. Excellent work! You can really tell you put a lot of effort and thought into the track! Some of those sections are pretty tricky. The only thing I would change is to put an extra checkpoint after the first big jump.

Keep em coming mate! Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with!

I've updated my Urban Decay to include a needed checkpoint after the first major jump, and have begun working on my next track.

    Re: Lighter02's Map Extravaganza!

The time has come to release my newest map, "Rearden Steel".

The track has a steel mill theme, with the beginning taking you through an abandoned underground track where beams and other metal products are transported. Here you'll see a mix of speed and dash of hopping to get through these tunnels - but remember, these tunnels are closed and it might take a moment to get past the barrier near the end of the steel track. Hard difficulty is how I'd rate this portion.

The abandoned track was originally sealed off due to a rock slide in the tunnel - and these rocks must be scaled to reach the area where finished metal products are kept before being carted off. The rock slide will take a few tries to master and can be rated an Extreme obstacle.

Climbing up a little farther from the underground, you'll reach the mill's storage section, where you'll be performing hops and maneuvers across steel beams and storage containers - leading up to the chemical drum storage room. This climb will take speed, unlike the rockslide climb, and is relatively easy to climb. The storage area as a whole can be rated a Hard/Extreme.

Coming up even closer to the surface after riding up the drums, you'll be in an area comprised of old, forgotten scaffolding and old, forgotten explosives. Use the environment to your advantage to maneuver your way out of the underground pit and out to the surface in what is my maps grand finale!

    ------

I spent a good 30-40 hours on this map and hope the product of my time and effort will be well received. I hope you guys enjoy, and please - any feedback and critiques will be appreciated. Any questions will be answered and tips will be given. Just ask!

In regards to the map's difficulty, I believe a good challenge is always in order; but I find my enjoyment piques at the Extreme-But-Not-Impossible range. 400-Fault Marathons have their time and place, but I believe a map with staying power must avoid that trap, or it just won't be played.

Hey mate, just a quick one. I added you as a friend about 10 minutes ago, jumped straight onto 'Urban decay' and all i can say is, wow. This is one hell of a track. The attention to detail is second to none and im really impressed. Cant wait to finish it and head onto your next track. Keep up the good work man.

On a note of personal celebration, I just finished getting the Gold on all the Extreme tracks! Yeah!

Next, to get the golds on the Hard tracks I didn't get. I'll probably begin working on my next track after that, while getting a nice set of hand cramps from attempting Platinum on Extreme.
