If a friend shares a track with me, am I gonna be able to share that track with someone on my friends list? It seems like that might break some copyright laws so I'm not counting on it. Just curious.
I don't really think it matters or not, The share is made to share to others, but if your friend doesn't want you sharing his stuff, then i would suggest not doing it
but would be nice sharing it so other players could test it to and rate it ^^
Just found this question in another topic and found out that you can't. I didn't think you would be able to, so at least I'm not disappointedStill super excited about tomorrow
I wish track creators could enable second hand sharing if they wanted. It would make it so much easier to get tracks.
How do we actually get the tracks from our live friends in practice? Is it done within the game i.e. lists all our friends who have tracks and then those tracks we can download?
Apologies if this has been answered in another thread but what is the reason for only being able to share with friends? Thanks.
EDIT - Never mind found the answer in another thread![]()
sebbbi, why would you not be able to make it so i can share levels that i've downloaded from other people? as long as there's a 'created by' column listing who made each level (which really needs to get implemented either way), there's no way anyone can try to pass off other's work as thier own, and this way, the good or creative level designers can build some kind of renown among the community.
in fact, that is the very difference that would be made by allowing free sharing of all levels (even if it was still only between friends). it would turn the current system of how it is now, searching for people who make levels, trawling through forums looking for other committed people, being inundated with friend requests from strangers every 5 seconds (that's one consequence i hadn't expected), into a real community.
we're crawling around in the dark on our hands and knees here now, it must be a fairly simple patch to give us all the power to get these good levels around. i frankly dont really feel like spending 8 hours painstakingly building a level to show to just a couple of buddies.
some kind of 5 star rating system or something would also make a big difference, as well as locally stored, tradeable replays for custom levels, so i can download my friends replays for the levels i've built.
if anyone thinks its a matter of people not wanting thier creations shared around like that, make it a selectable option when sharing the track in the first place, whether or not other users can freely share it.
can there be anybody out there that disagrees with any of this?
Didn't wanna open an extra thread for this question, but what happens if I delete someone from my friends list? Can I still use the tracks?
