There will be extra track packs. The game has been programmed to support easy addition of new tracks, tournaments and editor objects with downloadable content packs.Originally Posted by NorfaiR
Yes, the track sharing could be more feature rich if we had our own content sharing server network. However that is not economically feasible for a small indie developer like RedLynx. LittleBigPlanet is the only game released that has online leaderboards for user created content. LBP is a high budget AAA platform seller retail game. It's rather unfair to compare it to a 15$ Live Arcade game made by a small indie developer. Trials HD is everything we could do with the budget and resources we had available. I am very thankful that in the end we could have online track sharing in the game. Even a limited online track sharing is much better than no track sharing at all. It's a very big feat for a Live Arcade game. Offline only level editor would have sucked big time.Originally Posted by NorfaiR
Depending on how passionate people get about this game, I wouldn't be surprised to see a small, community-run server where users can submit levels, moderators select only the best submissions, and those can be used for weekly competitions, for example. There'd be a bit of overhead, such as paying for a server and having to weed through a lot of track submissions, but the players could submit only their fastest replay at the end of the week, and the top## replays would be verified in-game. This could even carry on into yearly championship standings, for instance, or the very best of the tracks could be used by RedLynx in an update. It all depends on if anyone is willing to go to that length out of their own time and money.
Full leaderboard rankings for ALL user-created tracks, which I think some people may have been expecting, cannot be implemented without massive expenses for the developer. It's just not scalable.
