The editor being on XBOX means it IS possible to be on PC aswell.
What the hell are PC's for? For editors and mods. Once the game companies figure out how to make (e.g) a set of fully working map editors for consoles, PC's are gonna get forgotten by many in terms of gaming. Sad, very sad.
Editor and worldwide track sharing system are both completely possible on PC in a future Trials game. We just have to develop the content sharing server system and create a end user track editor. The best feature of PC is that it's a completely free platform, and the content sharing does not have to be monitored for possible vulgar content or in any way limited because of possible copyright issues. The PC developer can basically do whatever they please if they are willing to take full legal responsibility of their actions. This naturally gives the PC developers more options on user created content if they are willing to take small additional risks themselves. Consoles will never be this open. This is the advantage of PC currently and in the future as well.Originally Posted by ObeliX
Isn't all the Xbox Live stuff also avaliable for developers through the Games for Windows Live online service? And wouldn't that also mean that, if you ported the game to Games for Windows Live, would be able to play the same maps with the same servers keeping track of records, map sharing and so on?
