I was planning a hiking to the Tatras Mountain this summer, but run out of money. So I'm saving it to next summer, but it looks really nice!

Sad thing is the forests are quite in a bad shape after a windstorm in 2004 and numerous forest fires ... The hiking there is still on a very high level, nevertheless. I can do nothing else just recommend it.

Notes:

A "Tatranean tarn" is a mountain lake of glacier origin situated in the mountain range of High Tatras. In Slovak we call such a lake "pleso" but that's not important.

I've also visited the Sterbian Tarn (Štrbské Pleso - not the one on the photo above) several times, but the weather was rather cloudy and the pictures aren't very good. If you are interested, I'd recommend to run a Google search for "Štrbské Pleso" and you'll surely find some good pictures.
