I've got some balls
My googlings told me that I've got some balls creator Sebastian Aaltonen is one of the developers of Trials 2. Does anyone around here remember that masterpiece? It's still my favorite marble game to this day. No other was that much fun and that well designed, especially the levels were amazing. Maybe the colored lighting was a little overdone but that was state of the art back in 2000...
I recently found a video on YouTube of I've got some balls 2 which invoked the desire in me to find out what happened to Sebastian Aaltonen and, of course, the sequel. Any chance we will ever get to see more of this amazing franchise?

Yes, that's true. I am Sebastian Aaltonen.
It's been a really long road since I've got some Balls was released in 1999. The sequel was developed in years 2002-2004. And it used state of art technology of that time (SM2 shaders, parallax mapping, HDR lighting with tone mapping, realistic physics, etc, etc). Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to finish the game myself. The program code was mostly finished, but the game only had couple of test levels, as I didn't have any level designers or graphics artists to make the levels and 3d-models for the game. Balls 1 graphics were so simple that I could make all them myself, but Balls 2 required so much more detailed 3d-models and complex materials. It was just a bit too large project for one man to handle. One level I've got some Balls 2 "technology test" was released years ago at http://www.suomipelit.com. I am not sure if they are still hosting it, or not.
Currently I am working full time at RedLynx. I don't have extra time for my own game projects any more. But many of my old projects are still alive in my mind, and many of my ideas have been transferred to various RedLynx projecs. Maybe in distant future a new version of some of my old games will be done. The most popular game distribution channels (Steam, Xbox Live, PSN, etc, etc) are now perfect for small games like that.

Wow, i remember it... slightly. I played it a long time ago.
I love "history lessons" like this, nice to know what fellow Redlynx devs were into, working on their own in the past.

Haha, no way! I actually have a very vivid memory of playing that game, as I was doing so the first time I listened to the song Jellybelly by the Smashing Pumpkins; it was probably the exact moment that I fell in love with that band so it sticks in my head.
So yeah, random factoid and all, but I did really enjoy that game.
Good work Sebbbi ^_^

This seems to be a thread about Balls 2:

Unfortunately, the link doesn't work anymore.
I'd love to see a Balls game on Live Arcade, Wii Ware, Steam etc. There have been some other marble games but they always lacked something. Level design, physics and camera have seldom been as good as in I've got some balls. Marble Blast or Kororinpa simply lack the flow and style to make them attractive for endless highscore hunts.
