    Track editor or Trials3?

What would you really like most right now? A track editor for Trials 2, with a decent way of sharing maps and keeping track of records, or Trials 3 with no track editor (but loads of new maps and stuff)...

    In fact
It'd be Trials 3 with loads of tracks and editor aswell.

Your thread lacks logic, young man

    Re: Track editor or Trials3?

I would guess implementing the trials track editor into Trials 3 will take as long as implementing it into Trials 2. If people think the track editor is more important than an updated game, why not implement it into Trials 2 first, release it, and start development of Trials 3 while people are happily occupied with the editor? Making Trials 3 with track editor will take a longer time, and many people are already quite bored with the same tracks... It will be a very long wait for anything at all.

Imo having the track editor in 2 months and Trials 3 in 1.5 year is better than waiting for Trials 3 for 1 year.

It will also boost the sales of the game and make the community very happy, with less effort than making the whole Trials 3 package with editor included.

Redlynx is underestimating how good a track editor would be for the game and the community.

    Release the editor ffs!

It's been said several times, and officially, that the Trials 2 editor will not be publicly released.

    Re: Track editor or Trials3?

What Obelix said actually. Sebbbi mentioned many times that a possible Trials 3 without a fully implemented editor would be... doomed in eternity. So i guess the editor is going to be high on the features list of the next member in the Trials family.

Regarding Trials 2, it's probably the most discussed subject, everyone would like to see an editor, but the RedLynx guys made it pretty clear why we won't see one for this game. And personally, i'm 100% with them. It's about time to lay their hands on a new project/game and make some profit to keep going. Thinking how much i payed when Trials 2 came out and how it transformed to Trials 2 SE, all for free, i really can't ask for more regarding this game.

So, i think i made clear that i would vote, if there was a choice about a Trials 3 with an editor.

Btw, this forum turned in some kind of a ghost town, but i believe that will change when the RedLynx dogs unleash some info about... you know what.

    Re: Track editor or Trials3?

And how long do you you want to wait for Trials 3 with track editor? They are clearly working on other stuff right now, and I don't think we will see Trials 3 for a long long time. Trials 3 + track editor is a much bigger project than just track editor for Trials 2. In these days of several developers going bankrupt, it would be wise to go for the alternative that brings the most income per development hour. Or are redlynx incredible super rich, and only do stuff for fun?

Imo its a very stupid choice to make...

Hmm I think you just answered your own question...

Yes a track editor would be great, but the time that would have to be put into modifying the core of the game (not just creating the editor, the game itself needs to be able to handle non-standard tracks where records are not saved and the track list could become infinitely long) would not yield Redlynx any additional sales.

I vote for Trials 3, taking as long as it takes to develop WITH a track editor (and preferably more options for track creators such as outdoor areas, potential to create your own 3D models / textures and add them to tracks) and other features.

Yeah, i don't really care too how long it will take them to release Trials 3 with the editor and any other of the features we have on the never-ending list at the Suggestions section.

Anyway, it's a decision they already have taken about a year ago. If you want, you can check this thread about the editor, in case you haven't. The biggest part of the... history, regarding the editor, lies there.

Oh well... Waiting for Trials 3 with track editor will probably be so long into the future that I have lost interest in the game anyway.

If you got a Trials 2 editor now, would you be interested in Trials 3 without an editor?
