    SPECS:
    Windows XP Pro

Nvidia FX5700 know it is old, but Gmod, CSS, HL2, TF2, all run fine)
(the minimum is a 5200 so..)

Geforce FX 5700 runs the game fine. We have one of those in one of our test computer systems. Your graphics card is not the issue.

This issue sounds like there's something wrong with the game installation. Could you try and reload and reinstall the game. Check that you have enough space left on your hard drive (drive C).

I tried reinstalling the game, and are still having the same issues.
I checked the minimum requirements again.. and I am passing all of them...

    1.5gb ram
    AMD Anthlon XP 2.21ghz
    FX 5700

just bought the game and would really like to play it... any other suggestions?
(I have the steam version btw)
and when I tried the steam demo before i got the game, it didn't work either....

Your computer specs seem perfectly fine. I can see no problems there.

Do you have newest drivers installed for your graphics card? To be sure, visit http://www.nvidia.com/drivers to download the newest drivers, reboot your computer and try to start the game again.

Are you running your computer with administrator privileges when you install the game? If you are running on a Windows user profile with limited privileges, you cannot install new programs and games. This could cause a problem in the installation.

If these steps does not work, you can locate the trials2_low.exe from your computer (using Windows search - it should be under steam downloaded games directory). Try starting the game by double clicking the trials2_low.exe icon. This will start the game directly without the launcher program (settings screen).

The demo uses exactly the same technology as the full game. The full game just has more levels and connects to the global leaderboards. The demo is an easy (and free) way to test if the game runs properly on your computer.

*sigh* Well, im getting a new comp in a month or so, was just hoping to get a chance to play this before then. Oh well...

Your PC currently has the latest driver installed for your GPU. No driver update is necessary at this time.
    The trials2_low.exe didn't run either.....
I am running with an Administer account... the same one it was installed on.

Running process monitor from sysinternals would probably narrow down the actual problem.

    http://live.sysinternals.com/procmon.exe

I suggest you filter on trial_low.exe

I hope you can manage to get around the fairly complex tool if you decide to try.

    That means either:
    1. The game did not install properly (the trials2_low.exe is missing)
    2. For some reason the launcher/settings dialog cannot access the game executable (limited privileges for example)

Try to find the trials2_low.exe with Windows search, and double click it. This should start the game.
