New patch installed but graphics are stuttering [SOLVED] | Forums

Just installed the new patch and the game stutters on all graphic settings and that's with the sound off. Resolution is set at 800x600.

On 1.06 the game ran smooth as silk on my machine, with 1.07 a couple of the tracks stuttered and now with 1.08 even the graphics on the main menu screen stutter and jerk

My machine is running XP - SP2.

It's a Intel Core2 Duo 2.20Ghz with 3 gigs of Ram and with an ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO with 256MB.

Any suggestions or anyone else getting this?

That's strange. In our testing v1.08 has been much more smooth on all our test computers than v1.07 and v1.06.

Have you installed newest drivers for your graphics card? Are you running the game on fullscreen mode? Windowed mode tends to stutter a lot more. Do you have programs running in the background when you play the game? Some programs in background can cause the game to stutter badly (especially if the programs are using hardware accelerated graphics features).

Had a look through my running processes and I've been trying out Maxthon2 browser (my norm is Opera) and in my process list was 3 running processes - even though it wasn't listed in the Running apps page. Don't know what it was doing! Anyway, killed them and performance is lovely and smooth

why you running the resolution so low? sounds like you got a good enough machine for more than that.

It may just be coincedence because it doesn't make much sense, but if i'm downloading torrents i noticed a bit of a stutter sometimes.

I probably tend to run it in 1024x786 in a Window. It does run smoothly in a high rez full screen - and much smoother now then previous versions

same problem 4 me exept that when i install some other drivers with my i mac i get the blue screen of "death" (i dont see why people call this the blue screen of death lol its not like the red ring of death or sumthing like that)
