Freezing screen + sound issues (Athlon X2 + XP) [SOLVED] | Forums

Hi there,

I had troubles playing this funny game that is Trials2 SE.
Look :

Sometimes the screen freezes, and the only way to keep on playing is to press ESC, than wait 4 seconds for the PAUSE Menu to appear, and press CONTINUE.

But i noticed something special : Each time the screen freezes, the game plays a sound that he didn't play before.

Example : I crash, but when the rider hits the ground, i can't ear him suffering. Than i'm back to the last checkpoint, begin to play and that's the moment when my screen freez, and at the same time, the game plays the sound it missed a few seconds before...

Other example : EACH TIME the rider hit a barrel, my screen freezes.


I've been looking for ways to fix my problem on this forum but wasn't able to find any similar problem (freezing due to sound playing).

So does anybody know any way to fix this ?

Have you tried to select "No Audio" from the game startup dialog. Also you should try to select "Software Audio" instead of "Hardware Audio", some people having problems with their sound drivers have reported that it has solved their problems.

The first thing I recommend is to download newest audio drivers. This is especially important if you have a Sound Blaster Audigy or X-Fi sound card installed in your computer. The old OpenAL drivers of these sound cards are very unstable, and reports causing crashes and bluescreens can be found around the internet in various gaming forums.

I tried "no audio" & "software audio" and it didn't change anything.

But ok, i'll get a newest version of my sound driver.

Do you have Windows XP and a Athlon X2 dualcore CPU? If you have both, you need to install driver package for your CPU (if you haven't installed it earlier). Please read the FAQ for instructions: http://www.redlynxtrials.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61.

I've been playing trials since 2003 if i my memory is good, and it's always with the same pleasure...
but this TRIALS 2 SE VERSION is a BLAST !

Thanks for this Tutorial, but I have one big problem. When I follow this tutorial I get a nice video, but he doesnt record the sound. Is there anyone who know what I am doing wrong?
