    Ati X1600 (MacBook Pro) [SOLVED]

I tried to play Trials 2 with "crossover games" (wine) and "parallels" on my mac osx, but both said, my graphics card is too old. I have got a ATI X1600 in my MacBook Pro... is it really my grapics card wich can't play the game, or will a native Windows installation solve my problem?

(I tried both, steam and the normal installation)

x1600 is a fully featured DX9 card and is also certified to work with Trials 2 Second Edition. ATI has full 2 generations of cards before it that also work fine on Trials (both high and low graphics mode).

Most likely the problem is with your emulation software. It likely doesn't support some graphics feature required by Trials 2 to work. The problem could also be that you are using a very old outdated driver. Try upgrading your driver to the newest available, it might help.

Do you have Intel CPU in your Macbook Pro? Best solution would be to have a Windows installation with dualboot setup.

Even if the emulator worked, it would probably be much slower than native Windows, so you wouldn't get everything out of your hardware.

Install Boot camp, and the game should run fine. We have a Macbook with bootcamp in our office and the game runs fine on it. Your graphics card supports the game without problems.

Most importantly our test Macbook has a Geforce 8600 graphics chip. Trials 2 does not need a high end CPU, but if you want to run the game with maximum graphics settings you need a fast graphics chip. If you have a low end graphics chip, please choose a lower resolution or lower graphics quality from the game launcher dialog.
