WTF?
So after the promises of addictive gameplay and the like in another forum on these boards, I relented and bought the game.
Then I read this on the 28th
"Today we also lowered the price of the game to very affordable 9.99$"
Does this apply to Steam only customers or everybody?
Not even 24hours before this announcement I was receiving good vibes about buying it, with no hint of this price slash.
I was undecided was not going to buy it at one point.
Following the 1.7 patch and various forum comments I decided maybe they're all right, and despite no editor this game might have some longevity with new map releases frequently.
So I went for it..pfft..bad idea!
Bought the game, downloaded the 1.7 exe and got my code.
For what? double the price?
Guess what? I pay the full $19.90 only to find it at under half price within a few hours.
Even had sebbbi telling me what great value it was at $19.90.
Like nobody knew this news was coming....yeah right.
As much as price cuts are nice, I feel very very misled.
Erb <--Extremely pissed off

You may have missed the pirce cut but dont feal ripped off becuse even at the price you paid you have still had an amazing deal and now have a fantastic game.
Also although these guys are very nice and good friends to alot of us here they are a company and we cant forget that the more monet the game makes the more fetures and time they can spend on developing it.
You may have paid more but evry penny you spend towards it only goes to improving its gameplay even more.

Well most of us have payed the 20 bucks so dont feel bad about it. But for 10 its a real steal. This can only mean more competition
.

I would have to agree with the other folks. This game is easily worth 20 bucks. I'm a huge fan of supporting independant game developement companies, and have bought a good few games for 10 or 20 bucks. The biggest difference between this game and those others is that the Redlynx folks seem to actually value feedback, and they use it to bring out additional content. And on top of that, the extra content is free! I challenge you to find a more enjoyable game with such a high replay value out there for only 20 dollars. Sure, the timing with your purchase might not have been the greatest, but just shrug it off and go on enjoying this great game

Trials Developer
I would have wanted to say to all of you that the price will fall in the future when we were sure about the Steam release price model, but we could not say anything about the Steam release until the Valve press release. I tried to hint that the game will be even more bang for the buck in the future, but that's all that I could say at the moment.
It's always a bit awkward to notice you have bought something just before a big price reduction. Happened to me with both my XBox 360 and my PS3 purchases. Both times the price was slashed 100$ just week to two after the release. But I am still happy with them. Especially now when I finally bought me a good 100hz Full HD TV. The newest games and Blu-Ray movies look fantastic on it.

Erb, don't feel cheated. It happens. But I know it does suck when it's you that it happens to. Rest assured you did get your money's worth. I've bought a countless number of games for $20 or more that weren't worth the CD they were written to. In just the last year I can think of 4 games I have paid a total of $160+ for that I have only played an hour or so each. Trials would be a great game for $40. So in my opinion $20 is a steal. And it is only getting better with each update.
Prices drop on games, and a lot of other things in life (XBox, PS3, electronics, etc). It happens all the time. No company is going to tell you the day before a price drop "Hey, wait til tomorrow when we drop our prices". It's business. You can't be mad at anybody but Lady Luck
Maybe when the next version comes out people that have purchased previous versions will get a discount. Ya never know.

Its a great game and well worth its money.
I dont think $20 are a lot and you definitely get quite a bit for your money. Not to mention all the free changes that came along with 1.06 and 1.07.
I think what it really comes down to is if you like the game or not.
