    Ok, that motherboard has Nvidia nForce2 chipset with AC97 audio chip.

    Please try the following:

    Rename the following files in your system directory C:\Windows\System32:

    ct_oal.dll -> ct_oal.dll.backup
    nvopenal.dll -> nvopenal.dll.backup

    If you have only one of the two files, it's ok, then rename it. After that try the game again and see if it works.

    lease let us know if that helped. If it didn't help, rename the file(s) back to their original names and please also report what version of Windows do you have (XP, Vista 32bit or Vista 64bit) and the versions of the following files

    C:\Windows\System32\OpenAL32.dll
    C:\Windows\System32\wrap_oal.dll

    You can see the version of a DLL by opening the Properties of the file and checking the Version tab.

    It seems that the OpenAl32.dll is a wrong version, it should be 6.14.357.22. The game installer should automatically install correct version of OpenAL, but for some reason it failed.

    Try downloading the OpenAL installer from http://connect.creativelabs.com/open...ds/oalinst.zip and running it.

    If the file version doesn't change, backup the OpenAL32.dll to another directory and delete it, and try running the installer again.
