When I'm using a joypad to play a game i hate having to use the keyboard or mouse to navigate the menus and options screens, is it possible to that we could have the option of using a joypad to do this, maybe in a future update.
This was considered long long time ago for Trials 2 Second Edition first version, but our UI coder estimated that menu system conversion for keyboard/pad menu navigation would require him full 2 work days to implement, so it was scapped (we had a very tight schedule). Currently our menu coder is assigned to other forthcoming project, making it difficult for us (remaining 2 part time Trials 2 SE associated programmers) to fix this in a timely fashion.Originally Posted by KAIN
Expect this feature to be implemented straight from the start in the next Trials series game. It's much easier to implement keyboard/pad control when implementing the game. Modifying the game later on to support new controlling methods is much more time consuming.
I have a similar request but I'd like the menu's to be totally navigated by the keyboard.
I just tried Trials 2 after reading a review in the latest PCZone magazine and I think it's a fantastic pick up and play game that work work brilliantly in my arcade machine (basically a PC inside and arcade cabinet)
The problem is my arcade machine doesn't have a mouse attached to it, it uses a keyboard encoder to map the arcade joysticks and buttons to keyboard keys so I can happily play the game but I just can't select and start a level
Can you also keep support for 640x480 resolution in any newer version as my arcade uses a special monitor that does really low arcade resolutions but has a maximum windows resolution of 640x480
Thanks
Stu
Keyboard and gamepad navigation is mapped similarly in our engine. If we add support to either one, we support automatically both.
