    Tips and tricks.

Somebody asked me for some tips, so here is my quick list. You can add things if something is missing.

    1. Just play a lot.

    2. Learn the tracks.

    3. Remember, don't hesitate. If the bike is fully under control, you are going too slow. Trust the lucky bounces

    4. Always prepare to next difficult spot way in advance since you can't do much when you actually are at the spot. Put the bike in a right position before the spot and pray.

    5. Keep to the ground as much as possible. High jumps are slow.

    6. Just play a lot.

    7. Play it smooth. Running on back wheel makes the ride usually a bit smoother and faster. Try to keep the speed up and don't stop anywhere.

    8. Watch the replays by other players and copy.

    9. Forward flips allows you to get a speed boost from the back wheel spring effect. Usefull in some tracks.

    10. Leaning forward and then doing a fast 'lean back, gas, lean forward' trick allows you to do higher and longer jump. Nessessary in the harder levels. On easier level leaning back before a jump and then leaning forward during the ramp or air allows you to jump longer too.

    11. Did I already say 'Just play a lot'.

    Tricks for Wheelie tracks:
    - The speed does not matter for your score at all. Take your time, and drive in a speed that you are confortable with to remain in the best balance.
    - The most stable posture to drive is the full back posture (while holding back button down all the time). Control the bike wheelie angle with acclerating in short bursts.
    - If you are slightly overacclerating and starting to fall to your back, stop pressing back button and accelerator. Most of the cases this is enough to fix the posture.
    - If you are overaccelerating a bit too much and there seems to be nothing you can do to save you from landing on your back, press brake slightly. This will cause the bike to strongly lean forward. Be careful and don't brake too hard or you fall on your face.
    - The best way to get your front wheel back up into the air is to stop the bike (brake strongly while leaning back). Keep the back button pressed and accelerate. The front wheel rises to air quickly.
    - In levels with jumps, try to jump as slightly as possible (brake your speed down before jump). All distance spent in air is reducing your potential backwheel distance.

Just purchased the game last night - what a superb find!

Still trying to get used to the basics of course, but what I've yet to grasp is how when on an steep up-slope good players seem to be sitting back on the bike and then accelerate up the slope. When I do that I just flip backwards. Are people just tapping the accelerate key?

    Cheers
    Richard.

    Hello Scottie!

If you have a lot of forward momentum you can do like that, but it doesn't work on all up-slopes. It is much easier to just lean forward when you go up, that way you can lean towards the slope while accelerating up. Do you understand? Keep pressing the lean forward button while you go up.

Hope that made some sense ^^
