Far Cry 4 Release Spoilers: Himalayan Mountains and Abominable Snowmen?

    http://www.idigitaltimes.com/articles/21786/20140205/far-cry-4-release-spoilers-himalayan-mountains.htm

A Far Cry 4 release date is still hailing from Parts Unconfirmed, but until we hear any more official news from Ubisoft then tidbits like today's Twitter leak will have to satisfy us. Kotaku columnist and gaming insider Superannuation accidentally tweeted the Far Cry 4 spoilers early Wednesday morning. In his tweets Superannuation makes reference to the Himalayan mountains as well as a strange new enemy. Take a look:

We can only wonder who the DM was to and what, exactly, happened on Aug. 20. (A quick search online only reveals the release of a Far Cry mod.) However, the rest of the information is of note to fans who were wondering where Ubisoft would take us next. If the tweet leak is legit then it looks like we're going to the Himalayas. And the "monsters?"

    That's gotta be Yetis, right?
The Yeti (a.k.a. Abominable Snowman) is basically the Bigfoot of Asia. Except it's white and it lives in/around the Himalays. If Far Cry 4 is indeed going there, and we're hunting monsters, I'm assuming it's Yetis. I could be wrong.
    I hope I'm not.
Although superannuation thinks the Far Cry setting sounds "boring" I'm hoping that Ubisoft is expanding on my favorite element of Far Cry 3. The hunt. Not just the player stalking animals, but the animals that stalked back. I've had fewer moments of genuine thrill playing a video game than when a tiger would do this to me:
Far Cry 4 Might Be THIS But Yetis!

If you're thinking that a Far Cry 4 release that puts you in the Himalayas means nothing but snow and rocks, think again. This PBS article practically sounds lifted from the back cover of the game:
The highest mountain range in the world, the Himalayan range is far-reaching, spanning thousands of miles, and holds within it an exceptionally diverse ecology. Coniferous and subtropical forests, wetlands, and montane grasslands are as much a part of this world as the inhospitable, frozen mountaintops that tower above.
It really does have all the things you'd need for a Far Cry 3 sequel. Lots of different environments, a super cool beast to hunt/be hunted by. And then there's Tibet and all that delicious Buddhism that's ripe and ready to provide an ample amount of spirituality for those wicked hallucination sequences. Plus, China and Tibet have been fighting each other for decades, which means thatFar Cry 4 has an excuse to park all sorts of military crap all over the place. Add in the tempting prospect of Mt. Everest making an appearance and suddenlyFar Cry 4 doesn't sound so boring.
AS with all rumors/spoilers/leaks we won't know anything for certain until we hear from Ubisoft. If you're looking for a date to circle on a calendar, keep an eye on April 4. We reported on a leaked teaser image back in October that indicated 4.4.14 might be significant.

Dapper, I know you're a good person and you have tirelessly supported the Farcry series.

But at the same time I envision you in the middle of a vast desert beating the dry and shriveled carcass of a dead horse, looking around for any other signs of life.
I know it's sad to say, but this forum has been vacant for ages.

    Map editors

We can just wait and see if they will take the players and editors input we gave them.Far Cry 4 will only be a lasting game if they have added A CUSTOM LOBBY set up for hostingmultiple custom maps at a time.Alot of editors want to paint objects a color so the selection isnt bland.Vehicles and animals would be great to now that the new engine is built to hold massive data.YETIs could be the new predator.Water textures could work really well if we could change textures to lava-boiling-bubbling-or even green toxic waste color.Hole tool could be used on water.STEAL THE SAMPLE should be brought back too.Locking system so players cant steal your map and claim it as their own.BRING BACK 5 STAR VOTING so players cant cheat voting anymore.Bigger limitations per grid-unlimted lighting usage.Snowmobiles and flying vehicles would be great.Just hope they listen to us.Multiplayer is where their game can thrive for years-stories are played quickly and forgotten just as fast. Talk w ya later bro

I wouldn't hold your breath buddy - Ubisoft got a petition from the PC crowd coming from the original Far Cry game for Assault mode when Far Cry 2 came out and that only had 4 game play modes in MP - They never got assault mode either.

With FC3 they got lots of stick beforehand with dropping Vehiicles and Solo Deathmatch & Capture The Flag modes but it did no good, they don't give a toss.
Do they really want a multiplayer game to be a long success - I am leaning towards them churning out crap every couple of years in a Call Of Duty type rip off & marketing type strategy - Unless they deliver good DLC that IMO would be the only reason to have the multiplayer as a success in itself.

Far Cry 3 was a single player only game because the multiplayer & COOP sections were simply broken beyond belief and their attempt to try and fix things up were pathetic.
It was a real shame because the multiplayer side had a lot of potential but my opinion was that the modes they gave us were extremely dull and boring with only Team Death Match getting any love.

With FC2 they gave us Uprising Mode which was a huge flop and with FC3 they gave us Fire Storm which was an even bigger flop, Domination and Transmission are more or less the same type of game with one mode having 3 nodes available and the other intermittent nodes from 1/2 at any one time.

That bar swinging from side to side for me didn't work - they need a kill count showing which side has what number of kills in DM and TDM while other modes should show the number of captures for Flags or Nodes etc.

A NO BRAINER is to give the following modes.
    CTF
    TDM
DM (with option for last man standing)
Look at SEEK & SECURE from Far Cry Predator and copy the way that works, Domination would then have been a fun mode.
ASSAULT - Give the fans that and something similar to Predator mode because that is what they want.

Should you want to make some crappy mode of your own that will generally fail as in FC2 and FC3 then go ahead and waste your time.

Take out the Kill Cam - it was naff
take out the healing process it was abysmal in FC2 and although it was a tiny bit better / quicker n FC3 it still took the player away from the game too much - drop it.
Instant Spawning is what we need
Take out those stupid Movies at the end of the match - some might have laughed a few times but they became very dull - the best way is to do a zoom over the winning player who scores best in any mode that worked before so why change it.
Give vehicles and give an option to possibly have them move a little faster because in FC2 they were very slow - you might like your MP Games to be like a game of chess but some of us like a bit more action and a faster paced game.
Give a way to end the match quicker if one Team Dominates because in FC3 most matches played out the time until the end and it was very painful for a losing team - most players would leave which made for a very bad match.
Time Limits need to be addressed - players DO want to be able to control how long their match plays for.
LOBBY must allow players to switch sides and see who is in the room as well as see who is hosting and what mode is been played.
Take Out the fly over cam at the start and end of a match that was very bad but made a lot worse by the items vanishing in the distance, hopefully with next gen machines and the extra power we will not get that rendering issue.
Give an option to place weapons in a map if some want to do that - not all of us like the weapon class system and leveling up system.

Basically you made one of the worst playing MP games in history that died quicker than the dodo and the community has gone the opposite way and all confidence in far Cry ever becoming that great multiplayer game again has gone.

The anger disdain frustration from the community boiled over like never before because key questions were dodged and never answered - the arrogance in deleting posts and covering things up to make out everything was fine - that was a joke, you rubbed peoples faces in it and can only blame yourselves for the mass exodus of players and the contempt shown by the community who hastily voted with their feet.

One of the biggest jokes was the Secret 4th Multiplayer Mode which was not mentioned until very late in Development - It turned out to be a total Turkey when it could have actually played well with some tinkering around.

The fact that you took away Machine Gun Turrets from User Made Maps before release and shortly afterwards took away more explosives / dropped the limit for items in a single grid square / didn't give us the options to use ziplines and also took out weapon placement after initially saying we would not get that option we found it to work on the games release - You clearly did not want us to have any fun or to enjoy the MP side of the game at all.

COOP & MP were also riddled with horrific bugs that never got ironed out and the editor freezing up a lot of machines was again a total joke that cut map builders to the bone.

The Ubisoft Policy with Far Cry games seems to be anything that works take it out and give them something that won't work - enrage the community and make them hate the product - Whoever makes those decisions high up needs to see the door, it could be a case of blowing smoke up backsides believing the hype then when crap hits the fan duck and turn the other way.

Far Cry 3 for me was an excellent Single Player game - most games these days have issues so it was not perfect but I really did enjoy it and still do, The Multiplayer had so much potential but they shut the door on everything and it was not what anyone wanted unfortunately.

It would be a good idea to throw in a single player mission creator that allows AI, also allow those Puzzle / Escape map builders to have their place in the game or is your policy to shut out sections of the community that like to push boundaries and think outside the box ?

COOP Missions made in the editor would be welcomed as would a MP free roam option as in Red Dead Redemption.

My gut feeling is that Far cry as a multiplayer game is and always will be finished because those that make the game simply do not understand what type of people want to play their product where MP is concerned.

For anyone to say "Its supposed to be a first person shooter for gods sake" well they obviously have not done any research over the previous games on other platforms.

FC4 will be a day one purchase for me but only for the single player game, the challenge is there to make something good with MP but it will not happen, been honest if the developers who are doing multiplayer (if the game has a multiplayer that is) if they don't include as much of the stuff mentioned above then they might as well not bother and leave it as a single player only game.

I will also say that the editor additions in FC3 were amazing, all the vehicles and AI - the waterfalls (although we needed more clear water) and the terrain hole cutter - Top notch stuff but what was the point in all that when the game played like a bag of spanners and most of the stuff we could not use in our maps.

Go back to basics and take out the map rating - that just causes crap with all the false votes and players stacking up for buddies when they don't even play the game - Also forget further competitions because you proved that you are clueless in promoting maps and checking over them - Don't try to do things if you don't have the resources to back it up.

Map search was worse in FC3 than any of the other games and yet we were spoon fed crap on how improved it all was - what a very sad multiplayer game you gave us, it was very painful.

Learn the lesson or don't bother at all.
On a scvale of 0-100% I am maybe 7% interested in FC4 - I know the Single Player will be great but it will need them to seriously listen to the community before they get peoples attention.

We are here and some of us have given over info before - even been in feedback forums but it mostly fell on deaf ears - someone somewhere needs to move onto another game and give us a team who have passion and are committed into earning praise because with FC3 all the attention was for SP - Everyone knew that the MP was a total flop.

No... why? I honestly loved that system. It was cool and unique, surely unrealistic but it was faster than FC3.

I wouldn't trust them after everything they have done to us...

Couldnt agree w you more on the modes and killcam deletion ,i miss the far cry 2 camera setup they had for the map editors ,those were pretty damn cool. That overhead show of the map though was absolutly horrific.I will buy it only for multiplayer and map editor because i just love creating new environments and themes for the players to have a blast on.With this new engine i see them using on the division game is amazing so hope ubisoft shanghai uses that.Far Cry franchise is liked so much because of their editor and being able to create new maps over and over so the multiplayer never gets boring.Wish they would relize that.I figured Far cry 3 was just a beta editor thats how it looked to me.I really could care less about their storyline.I mean how many jungle campaigns you want to do in every game? This new engine just has so much potential that alot of us would like to see objects we can build skyscrapers w,breakable glass again too.Im basically just saying ,personally i hope they work more on the editor and multiplayer because that is the only thing that will make this game worth playing again and again.Storys pull money in but multiplayer really pulls it in,just watch titanfall sales skyrocket haha, they understand, their game is multiplayer only.Damn it champ they should just hire us to help them ,take care bro, good to see your still involved.

    Nice find lx Johnnien xl

Unfortunately they rarely refer to Multiplayer - basically that article was all about single player.

The thing is, with all the hot word going about the next Far Cry game, people are asking what they want to change in it? Surprisingly, it’s almost nothing. The world weaved by Ubisoft was so spectacular that there were hardly any flaws in it. Oh, all right, the main story could have done with a little more tenacious characters to haul away the dull parts that we were more often than not subjected to.

See if it were about multiplayer then there would be so much stuff people would want changing.

I thought the Team Support Strikes sounded ok but they did not work at all in my opinion because we would send them down on the enemy and would not see the damage been done unless we dropped them on ourselves - Psyche Gas looked really cool in a video before the game released but it never worked like that when I used it - they should get rid of those Team Support Strikes they were a naff idea - as was Battle Cry - it worked extremely well in COOP because in that mode we COULD play as a team and had to really but normal multiplayer was extremely hard to play properly as a team because their Spawn System was a joke, most of the time we spawned near the enemy and rarely did you ever see a full team playing together - The Perks were ok I didn't hate them but honestly they over complicated the multiplayer and tried to make a game that they wanted which no one else wanted - they failed miserably and should first make sure the game is fun and playable and works properly before they get out of their depths again and make something that is boring does not work and is frustrating and over complicated.

Media Molecule who made LittleBigPlanet got their games right, they release playable games that are fun and easy to pick up and play - their multiplayer works and their downloadable content is great and priced reasonably - their is a lot of DLC and the game is supported very well.

Far Cry is going backwards - With Predator we got 12 vehicles and 16 players in MP plus 5 Game Modes / with FC2 we got 6 vehicles 16 players and 4 game modes / FC3 gave us 0 vehicles 14 players and 4 game modes.

SORT IT OUT PEOPLE or hand the Multiplayer over to CRYTEK who will give us the game we want the way we want it to play.
Also look at some character customization - The Tattoo Editor was naff and could have been so much better, a change of clothes / kit etc where we could mix and match would be a good thing.

Massive Entertainment had the balls to bring in a lot of changes with most of them been stuff people did not want they tried and failed, it didn't help that the game was so broken and buggy - now it is time to look at what people loved from the previous games and put that into the MP side of the game.
