    Hello adventurers,

    It seems that some of you still are experiencing issues with MMX and we want to first of all apologize for this.

    Since release day, we have been monitoring forums and websites in order to identify main issues and reported all of them to our Production team and testers. We have been trying to reproduce them and find workaround but we may still need your inputs to fix all of them.


    /!\ Concerning updates, we are currently doing our best to prepare a new patch for the game but we decided not to rush it because hot fixes may not really solve issues but only moves them. We will keep you updated when release date is confirmed.

    I. Important information
    First of all, we wanted to remind you some key information about the game:
    - If you played Early Access: you need to uninstall if first, delete all saves and then only reinstall the full game with the latest patch (1.3.1-14561)
    - If you bought the game in Retail : you must download the day one patch and only use saves from this same version (1.3.1-14561)

    II. Debug command
    If you have issues with scripts in the game (enemies who arenít moving, you canít attack etc.) please try to use this shortcut: Ctrl-alt-R

    III. How to
    1. Install the game (from Early Access, from Disk etc.)

    2. Uplay (activation & rewards)
    a) Activate
    a. Launch Uplay (be sure you have administrator rights)
    b. In order to activate the game, you need to be connected on Uplay when launching the game (one time activation)
    c. We recommend you to check if you donít have any firewall issues with Uplay, it seems that some players had to configure their router http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...=1#post9507015
    d. Check your game version (you need to be on 1.3.1-14561)
    e. Try to re-enter your key in the game extras > bonus menu

    b) Rewards
    You need to be sure you are connected to Uplay (check previous steps).
    You can check if your Uplay rewards are activated by pressing Shift f2 in game.

    > If you canít activate the game or access your uplay rewards, please contact our Customer support with your RendezVousLog.txt & Output_log.txt (cf. 5. Contact Customer Support (CS) & Identify logs to report issues)

    3. Check your version
    a) Launch the game
    b) On main menu, there is a number on the bottom right hand corner, you need to be on 1.3.1-14561
    c) If it is not the case, it is possible that you have difficulties reaching Uplay servers, we recommend you to check your firewall

    4. Find your saves
    a) Early Access saves:
    Early access saves can be found here in My documents\ Might & Magic X Ė Legacy.
    We recommend you to delete those saves before playing the final version.

    b) Final game saves:
    Again, if you have Early Access saves or saves coming from a non-patched version of the game, you need to delete them before playing.
    Saves are now located here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\403\

    Saves are composed of 2 elements and if you need to share us some of them, you need to send both .save & .save.metadata to support.

    5. Contact Customer Support (CS) & Identify logs to report issues
    To be able to help you and identify workaround & solutions for next patch, we recommend you to contact our Customer Support and share with them some precious files.

    a) In order to contact Ubisoft Customer Support you need to follow this link http://support.ubi.com/

    b) Output_log.txt [Steam only] = Crash & gameplay issues report

    If you have Steam version of MMX and want to report crashes or bugs, you can share with Uplay Customer Support your Output_log.txt

    This document can be found in your MMX Data directory, per default: Steam\SteamApps\common\Might & Magic X - Legacy\Might and Magic X Legacy_Data\


    c) Crash logs [Uplay & Steam]
    Crashes logs are also available. The game automatically creates folders when crashing with different files, you need to send the entire folder (within a zip file for example)
    o Uplay: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Might & Magicģ X Legacy\
    o Steam: \Steam\SteamApps\common\Might & Magic X - Legacy\

    d) RendezVousLog.txt [Uplay & Steam] = Connection issues
    In order to verify if you were able to connect to Uplay server in order to: download the patch, activate the game etc. You can send the Rendez vous log document to our CS.

    To do so you need:
    - to first of all, activate this feature by editing the config.txt document (with notepad for example) which can be found in (per default)
    o Uplay: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Might & Magicģ X Legacy\Might and Magic X Legacy_Data\StreamingAssets
    o Steam: \Steam\SteamApps\common\Might & Magic X - Legacy\Might and Magic X Legacy_Data\StreamingAssets
    - Find this line ďenableRendezVousLogging = falseĒ and change the false by true
    - Launch the game, retry to activate the game etc.
    - Share our CS the RendezVousLog.txt file located (per default)
    o Uplay: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Might & Magicģ X Legacy\  rendezvouslog
    o Steam: \Steam\SteamApps\common\Might & Magic X Ė Legacy

    e) Find your saves
    - Early Access saves:
    Early access saves can be found here in My documents\ Might & Magic X Ė Legacy.
    We recommend you to delete those saves before playing the final version.

    - Final game saves:
    Again, if you have Early Access saves or saves coming from a non-patched version of the game, you need to delete them before playing.
    Saves are now located here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\403\

    IV. Main issues ETA
    Please find underneath a list of main recurring issues we identified and where we are standing today. All of them have been reported to our teams and if solutions arenít available right now we will keep you updated about them.

    1. Game crash
    If you game directly crash when you try to launch it from Uplay or Steam, you need to check if you have administrator rights on your windows session.
    It may also be an issue regarding to your installation, you may need to completely reinstall the game and the update.

    > If this donít solve this issue, could you please contact our CS and provide them your Output_log.txt if you are using Steam and crash logs.

    2. Music issue (looping battle music)
    > This issue has been reported to our team. However we did not successfully reproduced it on our side, if you could contact our Customer Support and provide them your saves so we could dig this out.

    In the meantime, we recommend you to save the game, exit and totally kill all Uplay & MMX related processes and launch the game again.

    3. Blocked at the end of Act 1 - Maximus 3rd quest / Other quest issues
    First of all, you need to be sure that all your saves were done using the latest version of the game (1.3.1-14561). Indeed, Early Access saves and Retail version without day one patch, arenít compatible and may prevent you to access some content.

    Again, we would recommend you to check your Uplay connection (see above) and re-enter the key just in case.

    Otherwise, please contact our support with Output_log.txt document.

    It seems that some fans had issues with this quest after processing different quest orders, they also recommended to edit some files in the game. We canít support this solution that may not solve all problems and may corrupt other files.

    4. Corrupted saves / canít save
    We truly are sorry concerning save corruption issues. We tried to reproduce this issue on our side but we werenít able to do so.

    We suggest you to contact our Customer Support and provide them your saves.
    Otherwise, we would also recommend you to uninstall the game, delete all files concerning MMX (on my documents and uplay folder) and try a new game with all clear saves.
    > If you canít save anymore, please also provide your Rendezvouslog too.

    Some fans found a workaround that we unfortunately canít 100% support: delete corrupted saves (0 bytes) in this folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Orbit\401\RLD

    5. Canít move anymore (even with different saves)
    If you are not able to move anymore, please try first of all to use this command in game: Ctrl alt R, this should debug the combat script.

    If not, please contact our Customer Support with your save & output log.

    6. Skills/spells issues
    We are currently checking with our Design team all reported Skills & Spells. Some of them seems to experience bugs but other ones may be unclear localization.

    7. Expert & Master quests
    It is important to know that each trainer have a specific training level. If you are speaking to a Grandmaster, he canít teach you how to become an expert.

    Those trainers may not be at the same place or have the same skills as on Early Access version.

    8. Pirate Truce quest
    Some players have issues with Pirate Truce quest, this problem will be solved in next patch.

    9. Hireling canít join you group
    First of all, you need to be sure that you have a free slot in order to add a hireling to your team. Moreover, some of them require you to have fulfilled specific quests or pay them a certain amount of gold.

    10. Unable to open doors Castle Portmeyron after closing them
    This problem will be solved in next patch.

    11. Black screen during game
    If you donít have specific performance issues and your game gives you a black screen at some point. Please contact our CS with your log file, your dxdiag & saves.

    12. Canít start a game
    Even if this problem seems to happen to a really limited number of people, we recommend you to uninstall, reinstall and be sure you are using the latest version of the game (1.3.1-14561)

    13. I have a 64 bit OS but my game launch in 32 in my task manager
    Donít worry about this, this is totally normal. 32 bit isnít a program limitation but directly resource related.

    14. Some object/texture wonít load Ė my computer is getting very hot
    If some objects or texture are not showing in the game, it means that your memory isnít loading all elements. We are aware that this game require a precise setting configuration and we recommend you to try to reduce game quality, especially shadow distance.

    Moreover, if you are using a last generation Intel i7 cpu or a Nvidia Optimus gpu, be sure that the game is launched with the right gpu. Indeed, those cards includes a second graphic card for easier tasks and this one may be use per default on some configurations.

    15. Infinite loading time
    It may happen if you are not using the latest version of the game, or if your saves were based on non-patched version, that loading time will long forever.
    We recommend you to check your version and share your saves & Output_log.txt with our Customer Support.

    16. Invisible enemy
    Some of you are chased by an invisible enemy when leaving town. It seems that this issue is directly linked to the ďSpirit BeaconĒ. If you are surrounded by enemy or if one of them are close to you when you are using it, it is possible that the combat mode is still on when you leave town.

    It could really help us if you tell us if this is what happened to you (did you us the spirit beacon or not) so we could prepare a fix for this.

    Otherwise, please contact our Customer Support and provide them your output & saves.

    17. Characters dying before being hit
    This could happen if you act to quickly during combats or have performance issues.

    18. Unable to interact with the mouse
    We are currently checking this issue, however donít forget that space bar can also be used and is working fine.

    19. Trapped or immobilized enemies canít be attacked
    If you canít attack trapped or immobilized enemies (after using a skill), please use the following command: ďCtrl Alt RĒ to debut the combat script.

    You can also share your Save & Output to our Customer Support service.

    20. Unable to identify object
    In order to identify objects, you need to pay a certain price and it is important to remember that this cost is per object.

    21. Canít access rewards
    If you still canít access your Uplay rewards, please check our Uplay (activation) section at the beginning of this post.

    22. Localization issues
    We are currently checking all feedback concerning localization issues and will prepare fix when possible. However our team will certainly priorities bug fixing.

    23. Exploits identified by the community
    It seems that some of you identified a way to modify some values of the game. We donít have particular problem about this and we hope that with the upcoming modding kit players will offer greater possibilities. However, modify those documents at your own risks

    24. Bestiary quest
    Bestiary quest only record unique creatures! It means that even if you killed 15 different creatures, the bestiary quest will only recognize 1 entry if you killed 3 different spiders.
    We are aware that this quest could be a lot clearer and are trying to see how to fix this.

    25. Balancing
    Our designers are currently checking all balancing issues and we will identify which one are true bugs.

    26. F12 screenshots disable interface
    When trying to make screenshots with Uplay on MMX you may make the interface disappear. You just need to re-press F12 to make it come back.

    You can change Uplay screenshot shortcut on Uplay Settings.

    27. Menu Always ask to confirm without change
    It seems that when you changed the language of the game, menus keep asking you if you want to apply changes or not. We are currently trying to fix this.

    28. Unable to Taunt/provoke
    Not all enemy can be taunt or provoked (especially bosses).
    Could you please specify which monster you have difficulties with?

    29. Canít download soundtrack (Deluxe edition owners)
    This problem should now be fixed.
    - Uplay: you can download it from MMX my library page
    - Steam: the game ost is directly downloaded to \Steam\SteamApps\common\Might & Magic X - Legacy

    30. 32 Bit was fully supported on Early Access
    Indeed, we are sorry for all 32 bit OS owners. Due to the difference of content included in MMX final version and the Early Access (representing only a small part of the game), we had to reduce some features for computer unable to handle more than 4GB of memory.

    31. Mac version
    The Mac version will not be available at the release of the game. We are currently working on it. Our team is starting optimization process on this platform so we can't provide you an estimated time of arrival for this portage. We are sorry for the inconvenience it might cause to players.

    15. Infinite loading time
    It may happen if you are not using the latest version of the game, or if your saves were based on non-patched version, that loading time will long forever.
    We recommend you to check your version and share your saves & Output_log.txt with our Customer Support.

    16. Invisible enemy
    Some of you are chased by an invisible enemy when leaving town. It seems that this issue is directly linked to the ďSpirit BeaconĒ. If you are surrounded by enemy or if one of them are close to you when you are using it, it is possible that the combat mode is still on when you leave town.

    It could really help us if you tell us if this is what happened to you (did you us the spirit beacon or not) so we could prepare a fix for this.

    Otherwise, please contact our Customer Support and provide them your output & saves.

    17. Characters dying before being hit
    This could happen if you act to quickly during combats or have performance issues.

    18. Unable to interact with the mouse
    We are currently checking this issue, however donít forget that space bar can also be used and is working fine.

    19. Trapped or immobilized enemies canít be attacked
    If you canít attack trapped or immobilized enemies (after using a skill), please use the following command: ďCtrl Alt RĒ to debut the combat script.

    You can also share your Save & Output to our Customer Support service.

    20. Unable to identify object
    In order to identify objects, you need to pay a certain price and it is important to remember that this cost is per object.

    21. Canít access rewards
    If you still canít access your Uplay rewards, please check our Uplay (activation) section at the beginning of this post.

    22. Localization issues
    We are currently checking all feedback concerning localization issues and will prepare fix when possible. However our team will certainly priorities bug fixing.

    23. Exploits identified by the community
    It seems that some of you identified a way to modify some values of the game. We donít have particular problem about this and we hope that with the upcoming modding kit players will offer greater possibilities. However, modify those documents at your own risks

    24. Bestiary quest
    Bestiary quest only record unique creatures! It means that even if you killed 15 different creatures, the bestiary quest will only recognize 1 entry if you killed 3 different spiders.
    We are aware that this quest could be a lot clearer and are trying to see how to fix this.

    25. Balancing
    Our designers are currently checking all balancing issues and we will identify which one are true bugs.

    26. F12 screenshots disable interface
    When trying to make screenshots with Uplay on MMX you may make the interface disappear. You just need to re-press F12 to make it come back.

    You can change Uplay screenshot shortcut on Uplay Settings.

    27. Menu Always ask to confirm without change
    It seems that when you changed the language of the game, menus keep asking you if you want to apply changes or not. We are currently trying to fix this.

    28. Unable to Taunt/provoke
    Not all enemy can be taunt or provoked (especially bosses).
    Could you please specify which monster you have difficulties with?

    29. Canít download soundtrack (Deluxe edition owners)
    This problem should now be fixed.
    - Uplay: you can download it from MMX my library page
    - Steam: the game ost is directly downloaded to \Steam\SteamApps\common\Might & Magic X - Legacy

    30. 32 Bit was fully supported on Early Access
    Indeed, we are sorry for all 32 bit OS owners. Due to the difference of content included in MMX final version and the Early Access (representing only a small part of the game), we had to reduce some features for computer unable to handle more than 4GB of memory.

    31. Mac version
    The Mac version will not be available at the release of the game. We are currently working on it. Our team is starting optimization process on this platform so we can't provide you an estimated time of arrival for this portage. We are sorry for the inconvenience it might cause to players.

    For the umpteeth time...

    Again, we would recommend you to check your Uplay connection (see above) and re-enter the key just in case.
    Where IS this Key?

    I just got a reply from Customer Support who says, I will not get the boxed set that has the Key I'm supposed to enter?

    Can you please tell me, please, please, PLEASE where this Key is???

    Or if it's already been entered, how to confirm that it has been?

    I'm going crazy trying to figure out where this Key you're talking about is!

    Edit: I do not have Steam. Don't even know what that is.

    I can not play this game since my computer will shut down every 3 mins due to hot graphic card. I do not think it is a problem of my OS since i did a clean install and MMX right after that. I assume it is problem of MMX it self

    If some objects or texture are not showing in the game, it means that your memory isn’t loading all elements. We are aware that this game require a precise setting configuration and we recommend you to try to reduce game quality, especially shadow distance.

    game crush can't start again !!!

    Hi pleas help i play mmx for so many hours and game crash and when i try to start again just black screen alt+tab there is error message
    "couldn't switch to requested monitor resolution" and list of resolutions i try to re install game but its not working !!!

    Is the constant crashing on 32-bit systems after Act 1, primarily in outdoor areas, known or slated to be fixed? I've seen many threads about it but it's not in this bug list, or at least the crashes described in the list are only on launch as opposed to ingame..

    I got to an act 3 and after a game crash on a save attempt i had to restart my pc, and after that i couldnt start MMX again bcuz of the black screen instead of logo. I deleted everything i had (MMX and UPLAY) reinstalled everything and nothing of that helped it's still a black screen.
    I transfered my save files to another pc and the game starts okay there, no black screen , usual logo and stuff, BUT i have no voice sound in game at all!

    This game is unpolished like its still in beta stage.
