What a wonderful game this is! I can't stop playing it in my spare time and its just creating the adventure in my head, I have vivid imagination and can imagine things like chatter between party members, attacks, taunts and spells very well. The sense of adventure you get is awesome! You never now whats hiding behind the corner, and the world itself whilst not overly large feels huge as every tile has its purpose and every event is a real adventure. No one is holding my hand, and I make decision building my party the way I see fit and suffer the consequences. Forgot that purge spell? Tough luck with those Dreamwalkers. Have to save money very carefully and always think whom and what to promote and train first. Which spells to buy? In battles, which spells to use? Will this ghost be damaged by life drain? What about the spider and poison? Or Earth Elemental, Lighting surely is deadly for him!! Dark Elf assassins? Have some poison to reduce the evade! Armored Black Guards - what about acid splash?Or just a poke with my spear master Hunter?
The combat is so tactical and I'm still only using novice warfare skills - with other warfare it will become even more tactical!
Or how about this. Got to the Crag barely breathing at lower level, decided to do a main quest next to get access to Karthal. Found some place called Lost City, started investigating. Militia and Rogue mages dying like flies to my party! But not these ghouls and ghosts. And not in this quantity. Well lets search for all secrets and investigate the whole Lost City! Easily said, not so easily done. Lots of traps with hordes of the undead. Skeletal spearmaster - glad I got Windshield. So, in the middle of this dungeon I realised that I only have one supply left and few mana pots. After another undead horde two of my mages are outright DEAD. Priestess hireling is useless at the moment, seems the day has not passed since the last deadly encounter that seemed like an ages ago. So we had to use our last supplies, then resurrect mages and keep going. Dont want to backtrack to the city... have to make it to the boss first... and then, with no mana and no pots I encounter some exit - not to the deeper level as I thought - but.... to Seahaven! I was in heaven when I saw that. Then I remembered the entry to some lost city whilst exploring seahaven that was not activating at all. Now I know why. So after strolling the city, visiting few merchants and ofcourse the Tavern, back to the deeps we go...
If you played other recent Might and Magic games, like Heroes 6, Duel of Chamions, etc - its even more fun. You are going to meet plenty of familiar faces and look at them in different light after the encounter. After all we are just the adventurers, so it makes perfect sense that a Necromancer Luna from Heroes 6 is able to kill us in an instant. If she survives my mana surge
Thank you for this adventure.
...only if you turn a blind eye to the hundreds of bugs, some critical and show stopping bugs and the super slow, slower than an IBM XT speed, then yes, it's a pretty fun game. Be sure to play M&M 6, it's the best of the series. I've always wanted to replay it but I no longer have a 5 1/4 disk drive and MSDOS.
M&M6. This is the one that you get with the deluxe version I think. I tried it and the graphics were that blocky, everything was indistinguishable, and there is no option to change the resolution. I would have liked to try it but I can't make out what things are suppose to be.Originally Posted by iTwins-hk Go to original post
Seems strange to me, I didn't have a single crash.. but I think the game has a major memory leak somehow linked to sound. How much ram do you have and are you using winxp32 ? I have win7 64bit and 16gb of ram, not a single crash yet and i am in act 3. But it is a problem (The game shouldn't be this demanding to put it mildly) and should be fixed asap.
I find this with many games. Others suffer crash's with 8gig of memory or less, while I never suffer a crash with 16gig. Most likely due to memory leaks which every new game seems to have these days.Originally Posted by devilduckdemon Go to original post
@OP. Your right. It truly is a wonderful game. I didn't think we would see it's like again, so it's a dream come true for me.
