So there is already replay value, and as I go through the game with my first party, I am already excited about my second party.
However, it would be nice if there was more than just 1 advanced class per. For instance a crusader can become a Paladin currently, would be nice if he could also become say a Lord with a different set of abilities. It would also be nice if the choice came with not just 1-2 abilties, but also came with 1-2 extra skill expansions, as in skills that for the base class are only expert or master, but because of your advanced choice are now master or grandmaster. Again using the Crusader the two choices could be: Paladin gives access to two-handed Expert where there was nothing before, while Lord gives access to Shield grandmaster where it's currently master.
Chat functions. I play another single player game that actually has a pretty good community because the game designers added chat channels that could be joined. So although you're playing by yourself, you're not actually by yourself. So one, it provides a means for in game technical support if you choose to go that route, but it also just lets the community help each other. Rather than having to come to the forums where you don't know if you'll get your answer or not. And since you obviously can add the feature to leave all channels, and make it so the game still runs fine without being actively connected, this shouldn't detract from the game at all, just add something.
Spells. There are 1 grandmaster and 2 master spells per tree. This is barely anything. The trees should be expanded in my opinion, players love choices. Also the Dark grandmaster spell is pretty bad compared to the others, not sure if you can do anything about that. Although if bosses aren't immune to it, I guess it is really good against them. But even still, the turns it lasts is so low, even then it still feels like an expert level spell, not grandmaster. If you're having trouble coming up with ideas, and that's what is holding you back, just start a sticky thread asking for player suggestions on spells, I guarantee you'll get more than enough good ideas.
I agree in mm6-9 class promotions always came with two choices, not a linear one pick... and the promotion was required to fully grandmaster your classes skills and the two options grandmastered different ones sometimes.
also in mm6-9 there were just flat out more spells per tier, however it makes sense given the total number of spells for there to be 1grandmaster spell. In fact even if the total number of spells were doubled it'd still be good to only have one grandmaster spell... however if you want to reach mm6-9 levels you'd need to triple the total number of spells and at that point then you could consider a 2nd grandmaster for each school...
another thing that makes mm6-9 more advanced than 10 is that expert/master/grandmaster spell training didn't just unlock the next tier of spell, it unlocked the next tier of spell and added new functionality to the older weaker spells so that they could keep pace.
that said mm10 has a more advanced spellcasting system than 1-5 (imo) then again xeen had GEMS and spellpoints.
Something can be done similar to what WoW did. Have the option to turn on additional bars along the sides of the UI. So it could be up to player choice to allow more quickslots at the cost of screen clutter.Originally Posted by HorrorScopeX Go to original post
Here is my list:
-more cities
-rework the current cities (what the hell is wrong with those random boxes with gold inside which you can just pick up without any NPC caring)
-more freedom (every way you are not supposed to go is blocked as long as you don't have the mission; in older parts we could do whatever we want. Level 1 trying to hunt Golden Dragons? That's fine! Way better than being forced to stay in a reagion because the bridge is broken)
-more complex dungeons (I mean come one. I'm pretty much done with the game on warrior mode and there was not a single "hardcore" dungeon. No hard riddles (except for some pathetic boxes with a question), the riddels which exsist are way to easy like "The eye" etc., No hard dungeons. Compared to the oldschool dungeons we had in other MM parts the current ones are really really easy. I mean there was no dungeon which took over 2 hours, most of them were done without like 30-60 mminutes. The very first dungeon of MM6 (The spider/snake cave) took me probably as long as the longest dungeon in MMX.
-fixx FPS issues many players still seem to have when starting the 2nd act
-get rid of the act system. I don't want to be spoiled on how much of the story is left...
All in all I have to say that until now I am a bit disapointed. I mean, it's a good game but I was probably hoping for something epic like MM5-7. A game which you were able to play for weeks without playing it through. I don't know why you already released the game when it's obviously not finished (huge amount of smaller bugs, no other part was THAT buggy) but I guess that the budget ran out? Anyways, I hope you'll work on the game and just make it longer...
Wraithlinn, Aadas111: I completely agree
Though I would add:
-at least all fighting skills should have experts in Sorpigal as long as you won´t allow player free roaming on Agin peninsula (as mentioned above). That is what really irritates me about act I. - you are locked in sorpigal and neighbourhood and can´t see all experts available
- Increase maximum number of Experiences in game and rise the LevelCap
-I ´d like to see dungeons as complex as were Temples of Baa, Gharik´s Forge or Halls of Fire Lord in MM6.
-Dwarfes using spear is impractical. Also the scout and runepriest does not have access to 2H skill. In priest, ommiting axe and giving him the spear just does NOT make any sense.
-Archmages ability Time Stop is just too weak.
-I had to turn off cloud save sync because it stopped working.
-Please make more barks and make them individual for characters or at least a race. The joke "They smelled us, some forgot to take a bath" is very quickly getting old.
