Hi,
We, the server team and the forum moderators, want to regroup the remaining "Limited mode" - "Ubisoft servers are unavailable" affected player somewhere so we can fix the different underlying causes for all of you.
You have to understand the issue might not be caused by the same thing for everyone, this thread will not be for discussion but it will serve to track players who are affected.
Please work with us and provide the required information, please also retest if you haven't done so before concluding you're still suffering from such issue. Some have been fixed already and some have reported that this issue went away for them, don't assume anything and simply retest if you haven't done so recently.
We're not starting this investigation, we have seen all the posts on the forums and we know some of you are pretty frustrated, we understand and do want to help but not everyone is affected and so far we have resolved all the case that we could replicate in house. We need your help.
You should post here if:
-It's about AC4/ACBF
-You can use other online features of your console, in other games for example or even in another mode of AC4: SP vs MP. (You don't have global connectivity issue)
-Your issue is Limited Mode or receiving the "Ubisoft servers are unavailable" message.
-It affect either your single player AND/OR your multiplayer. Kenway's fleet for SP and joining a multiplayer match for MP. (for example)
We might add questions after the initial post, if so we'll mark them as new. Please monitor this post and update your post to add information and answer additionnal questions.

Platform: Are you affected on PS4, X1, PS3, X360, WiiU, PC?
Mode: Are you in limited mode(ubisoft servers unavailable) for "SP" or "MP" or "SP and MP".
Frequency: Is this intermittent or constant for you?
Started: When did the issue start for you, please specify if it's an "approximation" or if you were playing everyday and you know you're being "exact"?
Last attempt: When did you last retest to confirm you were still affected? Approx or exact?
Friends: How many friends do you have? (This is a known issue with upcoming fix) We believe there is an issue even for people who lowered their list.
Followers: How many followers do you have?
Tried with alternate account: Did you try to access the Online features that doesn't work through another XBL or PSN account? (Like people who reports it works for their brother or their friends on the same console or with their alternate account.)
Alternate account worked: Can you make it work with another account, on the same console?
Next-Gen Migrated XBL-PSN: If platform is X1 or PS4, was your account previously used on a previous generation console like X360, PS3? Answer if applicable only.
Next-Gen converted copy: Was your copy of AC4 ported over from old-gen to next-gen? You initially got the game for PS3-X360? Answer if applicable only.
Works on old Gen: If you have the game for both old-gen and next-gen, is it working on your X360-PS3 but not on your X1-PS4, with the same account?
Standalone Uplay App working: If applicable, is the standalone Uplay app on your console working? Completely outside the game...
Multiplayer mode NAT circle mode: Which color is the NAT circle at the top of MP mode main menu?
Uplay.com login works: Can you login on the Uplay website?
ACI: Are you an ACInitiates member (separate website)?
Zero day issue: For you, did it work in the past, or you have this issue since you have the game?
Gamertag: PSN or XBL
Uplay account: Uplay username.
Alternate working Gamertag: If you can make it work with another account or you brother is fine with his account?
Alternate working Uplay account: If you can make it work with another account or you brother is fine with his account?
Ticket #: What is you ticket number with Support if you have one?

Comments/Additionnal information: General description or the issue as understood based on what you did/tried. Kenway's fleet: is a the fleet feature accessible for your boat's Cabin. (Online feature)

I see you avoided most of the questions, we understand if you don't want to say more, but it would help if you could answer all the questions you can.
In your case it could be the the "number of friends" known issue, could you post this information so we can know who's affected by the friends issue?

All you need to know is: The "Uplay server not available at this time" problem happens at the main single player menu and prevents from accessing Kenway's fleet, community challenges, sharing events etc. WHEN AN INDIVIDUAL HAS MORE THAN 99 FRIENDS ON THEIR FRIEND LIST.
This is the ONLY THING YOU NEED TO KNOW. >99 FRIENDS = UPLAY SERVERS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. NOW FIX IT.

I can understand your frustration, but we also know people have reported that even below 99 friends and on other platforms like Xbox One some are facing the same limited mode issue.

I cannot play MP since 10/1/2014 with limited mode activitied.

4 .Frequency: always, but Click "Go online" again can play MP. However i cannot go online since 10/1/2014 until 12/1/2014 afternoon. I played 2 hrs but i cannot MP again in evening

just simply cant connect to servers from the main menu or in the single player, the wi-fi symbol in the bottom left corner of the screen has always been grey ever since i started playing the game 2 weeks ago! (ive read it is supposed to be white) This is stopping me from sharing and receiving whale, convoy and chest locations and is causing my single player game to freeze for a few seconds every 2-3 mins, virtually making the game impossible to play, i believe this is because it is constantly trying to connect to the servers but cannot so it just freezes the game while it is attempting to do this! Online matchmaking , uplay app, connecting to uplay from mp menu all work fine, it is just the single player portion of the game that is not connecting to servers properly! This is so frustrating for a game that i just forked out £50 to play and would be grateful if you could get it fixed for me asap, thanks in advance!

Did we forget something: Yeah, apparently you forgot to test your game. I'm very surprised you'd release a game in which some users simply can't connect to your online mode, with the fault being on your end. I feel like I've paid $60 for half a game, and that's not fair.
