Never have I seen so many new players in a multiplayer. It is good in the fact that the multiplayer might be growing, but it is bad because of what these players bring to the game. I been on thanksgiving holiday so I have had alot of time to play this..and I played for a good portion of the days and all day everyday. All I saw was players running around undercutting kills and killing me for 100 points or less..maybe there would be a few lucky good kills but those are as rare as they can be. And then we have some players just standing around killing civilians and that have no clue what the hell they are doing..and getting like not even 1000 points for the whole game..its like they are wittle babies lolits so cute when they kill civilians xD
Was playing AA the other day was a pretty serious lobby but for 2 games each team had to suffer having this new player on their team and all he did for 2 games was sit on a bench and got 0 points.. why was he even put in that game? he had no reason being put there.
I mean its not even the new players..even prestiges high and low are running around for 100 points.. and the rare group of ppl who are good are jerks and take the game too seriously.. id take the newbies over them for that reason..
Idk i think something needs to be done..cause it seems these new players are turning people off of the game..i mean im use to it ive gotten killed for 50 points sooooo many times and i win all those games for the most part..but as a community we need to do something. ...like maybe start teaching some of these ppl how to play? idk ..its not fair to the game either..because the same ppl running around getting 50-100 point kills and killing civilians are the same ones who are going to say the game sucks because they always lose or get stunned..or get killed for 1000 points and dont know why..so their bad playing and lack of knowledge and understanding of the game is going to affect the game aswell...
despite what ppl say is a great multiplayer..i been gaming for awhile and remember stuff like the old nintendo and nitari and such and first person shooters have been around for ages..kind of why i think CoD sucks..(ive said that to cod players and they are so confused lol) CoD is nothing new neither is battlefield....goldeneye is still a better fps then those games..actually most of the n64 games are betteranyhow u get my point...but theres only been one assassins creed mp that ik of its unique it makes it fun
plus with the characters i feel u can get really involved with the game.
anyhow sry I have a habit of going off topic..anyhow lets possibly think of some solutions here to help the multiplayer..i mean ac4 isnt going anywhere so we might aswell try and cope with these players and help themhelping a newbie goes alongway sometimes..and ths game is a tough game to learn...
anyhow sry for the long post..i will enjoy pondering ideas with u guys![]()
This is a nice initiative Tarjas Templar.
I'm the other side...started this game 3 weeks ago, so still a newbie.I think for us is also a big problem learning this game on our own. If we join random maps, we don't really have chance to play quality game....I'm sure this can be frustrating for many new players as well.
The best thing we can do is to join a clan, or find experienced friends to learn from them, or just play with newbie friends at the beginning to discover this game and lvl up together.
I had luck, I got lots of help from other players, like youin the last 2 weeks, but I was looking for help, so open for changes.

I've thought about this myself but I never get anywhere. Truthfully, a gaming community is pretty helpless to help those who just don't understand the game. Even if we all "train" one or two players each, there are thousands that will still play like idiots.
To me, if we want to "fix" the playerbase, it begins and ends with Ubisoft changing the mechanics of the game. It's not what WE can do, it's what THEY can do. I've posted an idea on the forums several times that I think will help, which is my beloved "relative detection meter." Describing it as quickly as possible, the relative detection meter works the same way as the detection/approach meter does now, except that it's controlled by the actions of both pursuer AND target. If both target and pursuer are high profile, the meter doesn't move. If pursuer is low profile and target is high profile the meter rises really fast, etc etc. However, if the meter drops below a certain value (like it would if pursuer was high profile and target was low profile, for example) then the pursuer would no longer be able to get the kill!
The thing is...Ubisoft has made plenty of deterrents to high profile play. Low point kills, high profile players get stunned, a marker appears over their head if they run in sight of their target, etc. But we're on the FOURTH game now and that stuff just does.not.work! Players only care about getting kills, so that's what they do, they run around getting kills. The only cure to this is to make it so they can't get kills. You want to kill somebody...you gotta play right! It's the ONLY way.
Also, I've been saying since ACB that there needs to be limited sprint. Too many people run around the entire map at a million miles an hour. I think this needs to be prevented.
I think there are should also be more rewards for stealthy players, and more chances for them to be stealthy. I understand there are probably technical issues behind this, but I really would like to see more NPCs per map. I think it's CRAZY fun when you get that collision of like 4 or 5 blend groups and there are 20 NPCs all in one spot. It makes the game more fun in my opinion, but I understand that can be tough on the programming side. I also think that (and this is an especially huge issue given how loud the whispers are now) there aren't enough ways to approach a hidden target. (This is one of the reasons I want more NPCs). I mean...there are times where I'm like "I know my target is in that blend group, but there's nothing in between him and I except 30 meters of empty space." So you walk through all that space and the whispers are screaming at the target like a chorus of angry angels, and your kill gets contested or your target runs away because it's so obvious that you're coming to kill him.
I also think that Ubi needs to get rid of the whole thing where you only unlock abilities/perks/etc as you level up. It's so completely unfair to new players it's not even funny.
So...to me the big thing is the relative detection meter. That's the biggest, most obvious IN YOUR FACE fix to this game, in my opinion. Everything else is just kinda stuff I want haha
I agree with everything that has been said. What's unfortunate IMO and from my own experience playing AC4 is that these players are now being REWARDED. Before, when they were losing, at least SOME (definitely not all) would ask me for help about why they kept losing and I would help them of course. However, in AC4 now, because I cannot stun them when they jump off of a roof and dart at me, I contest their kill, they have determined on, and so they still get points. These players then end up beating me and I take 2nd or 6th...and then the next game I'll beat them and I can't figure out what I did differently or what they did differently for me to beat them. I don't like a game where luck overrides skill. Is that what AC4 (deathmatch) had become? These players should not be rewarded if we want to keep the game about stealth. The stealthiness of this game is the whole reason why I love the game. It stole me away from CoD and Halo. And my friends who suck at CoD can finally have a chance at AC! I tell them come play AC and they're like I can't run and shoot with the xbox controller and I'm like that's the best part, you're not supposed to run! Then they come play and take 3rd on their first try and love the game! That won't happen anymore in this new game.
On PS3 I've seen almost no new players which is sort of killing the game because there's no one to do anything new or interesting. I still win most matches but they're all sort of rote and repetitive, I really like it when I get surprised in these games and new players are the only ones that can do that. Maybe if Wanted didn't suck it'd be okay still.
It sounds liek we need to have a community gettogether to teach new people how to play or play matches with them and if they have any questions then answer themOriginally Posted by Battle5Star Go to original post
Agree with pretty much everything you said, and LOVE you detection meter idea where stuns take priority over kills.Originally Posted by DeanOMiite Go to original post
With regards to the idea of not enough ways to approach a hidden target and the sometimes sheer amount of empty space between you and said target. I think a great fix would be to actually incoropratoe something from SP here, and give us a "Crowd Control" ability, where we can control a moving crowd we are in for X amount of time, allowing us to move in, under cover, on our targets.
i should of mentioned i play on xbox and I get put with new players every single game.... lol like every game pretty much lol
its not like their playstyle is hard to cope with ..but i wish to try and help them get better..to make the game more fun for everyone..i always want to send them a message telling them that this game isnt CoD or battlefield .. :\ or something..maybe we should idk..i also dont wanna scare away new players either..i mean we wanted the community to grow and now we got it :\
