If you remember, this idea has, in fact, grown from an in-game idea. But it is a good point to make - you can't exclude people from things.

I am simply saying that I would use the heck out of that app, and would even pay for it.

    Eat this:

The Android version of Spider-Bot has over 100,000 downloads. With a reported 2 million copies of Blacklist sold..... The MINIMUM percentage of Spider-Bot users is 5%. In reality, this number would be higher, because I did not include Apple device downloads.

A valid point to make is that not all 5% of those people are necessarily Blacklist users, but still - that number speaks for itself --- A companion app does very well, based on this simple statistic. If Ubisoft decided to charge a small amount for the app, or offer it for free with a pre-order? They're well ahead to delegate a couple people to design and code the app. Denying that is pure bullheadedness.

Combine that with the fact that this companion app would link directly to in-game experiences? I mean come on.... Everybody who owns those devices would try it.

To be honest, I think Splinter Cell would really benefit from this OSFI idea, companion app.... Smart-phones resemble the OPSAT. Ubisoft could put something really cool together to allow us access into the world of 4E from our handheld.

    EDITED: Wrong math. Eat it.

Funny Idea: The OPSAT Smartphone Skin and Smartphone Bag (to wrap around your arm). You can use it while doing sports (jogging, training) or while doing other stuff like shopping or if you are at work / at home.

It would look like the OPSAT in Blacklist on Sams arm and has multi-usage.

    Now you're just mocking me.

Regardless, the in-game portion of this idea is pretty sweet, guys.

A companion app in terms of in-game OpSat app maybe? On tablet or smartphone, connected through WiFi, synchronized with your computer or console and it gives real-time Opsat information like you mentioned. I see 2 problems thgouh: 1. Battery life; 2. Who would want to stare to another device when you are concentrated on screen with a game.

Connected through WiFi. Love the idea.

Perhaps even giving mobile users to view snake-cam feed, sticky-cam feed, and weapons wheel from our device.

Besides, Wii-U users already have that ability. Revitalizing the code to use WiFi connections would be a breeze.

    Wii-U users?

I think if done properly, it could make the OPSAT that much more intriguing and powerful.

Ahh, it would be pretty funny. but as you said - that's excluding a lot of people from ever using it. Not that anybody would actually use it Lol.

Although, if Ubisoft did decide to make the OPSAT an actual character, play on some of these ideas, and hyped the game that way - I would think that the arm-strap-thingy would be a relatively cheap to manufacture Collector's Edition item.

    Different. But interesting.

This would work so well. I talked about having an open world splinter cell back in 2008 and. Look at metal gear now.

This posts could be your main gadget - besides goggles in the open world and you could carry gear in a jeep like the splinter cell books. You'd have limited interactions while dressed in civilian clothes but have full abilities in your gear.

This opsat could encompass the entire experience- it IS one of his main gadgets

This is exactly where I'm going with this idea.

Also, given how Ubisoft is so proud of the SMI, and HUB experience, (as they should be), I think the next obvious step to take is expand that SMI experience to another form - the most important gadget Sam has......... (OPSAT, for those who aren't paying attention).

Surely a nice idea, but that would be very hard to pull off and you are walking on a thin path there, because for something like this to work in a stealth game you need to really hit the nail.
