I just bought this game for the sole purpose of playing multi-player, even though all I can deduce from various forum postings is that the multi-player community is not very populated most of the time, I thought I'd give it a shot anyway because I need a PC FPS fix and this seems to be the game that would most fit my tastes at the moment. However, every time I try to connect in-game I get "The Far Cry 3 service is not available." I've only been trying for 20 minutes as I just installed the game. How do I know whether I'm unlucky enough that the servers happen to be down right now, or whether I have a problem with my PC or network? I don't usually have problems connecting with multiplayer games on my PC and FC3 is clearly enabled in my Windows firewall so I'm not sure what the problem could be on my end unless there are special ports I have to forward on my router....?
Well, I figured it out. It was on my end. Fail.Originally Posted by Butcherbird59 Go to original post
Now I keep joining lobbies but games never start even though it claims there are hundreds of people playing. I play multiplayer PC games every day, and I've never had problems like this, it's ridiculous. *sigh*Originally Posted by SergeantSkirata Go to original post
Got to play some regular team deathmatch now and I love it, the maps are gorgeous and the gameplay is surprisingly similar to what I remember from playing someone else's copy of the SP game a while back. Most games have a completely different feel to the multiplayer gameplay so this is refreshing. I think this will be one of my favorite PC FPS ever! Also pleasantly surprised that there have been 100+ players on when I'm online, I was afraid there would only be like 10 or so.Originally Posted by SergeantSkirata Go to original post
