I'm not convinced that RS has anything to do with the fact that Gamestop is run by comnplete idiots that can't order properly.

Game Stop was the only one that DID get the no-cable version... So, try to follow along. Or was Game Stop's idiocy topped by every other retailer's greater idiocy? Or, perhaps, did Ubisoft only send no-cable versions to Game Stop, and then, only sent a few copies regardless of the number of pre-orders? Well, Paul Cross apparently confirmed that after the fact....... So, I'm curious how this was Game Stop's fault, when Game Stop was the only one with copies...................... Simple answer, it isn't, it's Ubisoft's fault.

How do I know Game Stop isn't at fault for me not getting the no-cable version I pre-ordered? Simple again... I didn't buy from Game Stop... I bought from Best Buy. So........

That's a good point. I know that they need to get more popular bands in order to attract attention to the product, but in the long run, I'd rather they got interesting songs. Things that had techniques that are interesting, useful and will push us to better technique.

It seems silly to have a Hendrix song just to have a Hendrix song or to have an ACDC song just to have an ACDC song. But, without a few songs like that, it might dissuade people from buying a copy of the game. I know quite a few of the songs on here are ones I don't know and quite a few are even from artists I've never heard of.

Yes, some. Only to Game Stop, and only a set number of copies... In other words, they should've said, "we're releasing 2 copies of the no-cable version per Game Stop, first come, first served..." But they didn't. They said, "For our loyal RS customers, we've come out with a no-cable version, pre-order today at your local or online retailer."

Big difference. One would've been the truth, the other was just a lie. Period. And SquirrellyNinja acknowledged that I had an issue, inquired about it further, and once he had the information, apparently, is going to pretend this never happened, existed, transpired, or was inquired about by him..... Again, unacceptable. If you're going to act like you're going to follow-up for someone, how about you actually follow-up? There's an idea.

That being said, I can definitively say that it is NOT the case that only Gamestop got pre-order copies of the No Cable Included version. Best Buy also accepted those pre-orders and we delivered stock to Best Buy. Currently you can still order the No Cable Included version online at Best Buy, Amazon, and Gamestop. The only thing exclusive to Gamestop is that they're the only retailer right now to carry the No Cable Included version in-store.

Thus, if you had an issue with your Best Buy not having the stock to fulfill pre-orders for the No Cable Included version that is on them. There was no such policy on Ubisoft's part to strictly deliver pre-order stock to Gamestop. The bolded part of your post is incorrect information.

So, Best Buy themselves printed cards to pre-order both versions and couldn't themselves identify why those weren't fulfilled, and the same thing happened at every other retailer except Game Stop, at which point, on day 1, it was revealed as such... Why not reveal it, you know, before we had already paid a retailer to retain the copy you knew wasn't going to be there. Shoddy.

I'm also still curious as to what happened with the no cable release... I had pre-paid at EB games for no cable version (ps3) but they never received any copies (even though they had a few guitar bundles available). The clerk gave me one of the copies from one of the bundles, but that doesn't explain why my pre-paid copy was never shipped.

Both here and by PM SquirrellyNinja suggests that only Game Stop had the no-cable version for sale in store. He claims all the other retailers could've done that, but apparently just chose not to fulfil pre-orders they were making and had spent money to set up (you don't print full color half page cards for free)........ Of course, common sense debunks that, along with the fact that when it was announced, we were told to pre-order at our favorite retailer. Only on the day of release was any hint given that Game Stop would be the only retailer to have physical copies of that.

I am SO glad I went with the PSN digital download pre-order. I had the game downloading about 12:30 am on the 22nd, and was able to play with it by about 4:30 am.
