I've been playing multiplayer since Brotherhood and I was wondering if this was a worthwhile entry to the multiplayer part of the series. I've been watching gameplay so far and it looks to be pretty good but I was so put off by the direction Ubi went with III's plot that I kinda just didn't care about IV.
So a couple questions about IV:
I really dig the series's multiplayer character customization but from what I've seen, they've really watered down IV's since III, and III's was already pretty weak compared to previous releases. But I wanna know from vets, how does the customization compare to previous AC games?
I mean with character customization being a big draw for me, and how they've kinda dropped the ball on that one with this entry, how's the gameplay compared to past multiplayer releases? Did they balance a lot of things out? Add new game modes, abilities in or took some out?
I'm sorry if I sound real nit-picky but I'm kinda on the fence on this and it'd be cool if I got some input from you guys who already own the game if IV's worth buying. At least for the multiplayer.
What do you mean by harder? Just how the abilities work or is it an underlying gameplay thing?
Yeah I plan on picking this up with a buddy of mine. We used to play Artifact Assault a lot so if they didn't overhaul that too much we might take it for a spin.Originally Posted by DomdudeDaGreat Go to original post
If you have friends Yeah you will like it...IF you can get paired together....yes unfortunately matchmaking is still cr@p even since ACB -_-
Solo it may get boring since there has been up and downs to what they did for Ac4's MP. It's....'Harder' yet 'Easy' at the sametime depending how you look at it :/ hahaha
Let's Smokebomb is nerfed which is good and bad- Longer recharge and 2 second delay so in a way, you don't see many *puts shades* Noob-Smoker's as much (also it's unlocked at Lv 48 I think)
other abilities are more useful, like glimmer is pretty good now in AC4. Disruption is very good when youcraft its effect at full.
The main no-no in AC4 is that Chase(ing) is gone so you can run forever :P
Simple deathmatch is gone so no ability FFA is gone
Wolfpack got a lil more intersting with some extra events now; but also best played with friends or solo
The MP charcaters I think, are very cool. unfrotunately the customization for Ac4 seems fairly minor as to AC3 but also have best details though.
Also the level cap has been raised to 55 but only I gues since it seems a lot easier to LV up now. On day 1 I played Ac4 I had already seen Lv 3 prestige players :P
To me It is still a better alternative than any typical shooter but you will have to get used to some (drastic yet also little) changes
I hope you meant "ever since ACB" because Brotherhood's matchmaking was perfect.Originally Posted by SleezeRocker Go to original post

Yeah it was fialry better in ACB but even so in the beginning, it was still kind of hard getting paired with your own friends
Yeah but in acb IT WOULD KEEP SEARCHING FOR WHAT YOU WANTED (AND NOTHING ELSE) AND NOT GIVE UP, while in other ac's you would have to research (often SEVERAL times), OR it would throw you into a completly different mode that you didn't want to play at all.Originally Posted by SleezeRocker Go to original post
Basically, you could hit "search for wanted" in brotherhood, get up go get a drink/some food, or read a book and it would eventually find you a match. Proceeding games, not so much.
What WOULD be nice, even though we know ubisoft won't ever have dedicated servers, is to have a server list of all active game sessions, with the game mode and number of players listed, and stretching out here: time remaining, preferbly sorted by ping to host. And then give us the choice of having the matchmaker find a match for us, or to use the server list. But it's highly unlikely we're ever gonna see that, because it sounds too wonderful of an idea and it would require effort to implement.
