It think expecting anything more than 2 SvM maps is a bit unrealistic. We lament the simplicity of the maps but they're still more complicated than your run of the mill shooter map.

I agree, a patch is crucial, but who says they had years to work on this game? For all we know, a small team of devs got handing this project 6 months before launch. Given the beta-esque state of the game I'd say that's more likely.

    Thank you, ShadowFox.

DLC for Blacklist is finally confirmed. I'm happy about this. I really am. The absolute silence about DLC was getting very worrisome. I will be playing Blacklist for years to come until SC7, so I don't mind that they take their time on it for 2014. When I reflect on it now, SvM really does have a lot of content in it to last until 2014 before extras come out. Yeah, there are 6 maps, but there is Classic mode, and four different modes in Blacklist. Also, the customization adds a lot of depth and strategy / tactics to choose from. The gameplay experience will always be different each round / game. As ShadowFox already said, we should expect at least 2 new SvM maps, because there were originally going to be 8 maps in the final release. But they pulled back 2 of the maps for polishing reasons. I pray there are remake maps from PT / CT. I can't wait to hear more on the DLC.

Hoping for SP / Coop DLC. More Grim missions would be a plus. I want a nice balance between Kobin and Charlie missions. Even some Briggs missions with Kestrel being playable would be awesome. Anything related to American Dust or another side operation for SP would be enticing. New outfits, weapons, and maybe new gadgets??? Would be awesome.

Exciting news, indeed. It's about time. I guess Ubisoft wanted to wait until they had their 2014 fiscal year plan scheduled before announcing anything official, which is understandable. If Blacklist wasn't picking up sales near 2 million, then I wonder whether DLC would have been canned. But I'm just glad it's happening. Blacklist is already a huge game as it is: I can't wait to see the game get bigger with more DLC missions / maps / upgrades.

Sweet. Hope it's SP instead of MP maps.

On an unrelated note, Far Cry 3? When was the last time that game got any DLC? I remember there was that one Blood Dragon game, but that felt more like a spin-off.

Blood Dragon was a stand alone game... You didn't needed to use the main game for play that.
The only FC3 DLC was High Tides, free coop maps.

Sweet. Hope it's SP instead of MP maps.
I hope that it will be a BIG DLC, with everything.

You have a tendency of sounding like a fair weather fan, kicking them when you think they're down out of being the popular thing to say, then blowing smoke up their arse in an insincere way when you find it IS in fact a more popular game than you're giving it credit for.

There's always something one can find to nit pick about, but be careful what you wish for. Those little things you don't like here and there may very well be what affords them to continue the series.
Look pal, I don't know who kicked you in the balls.

If I pissed you off somehow I'm sorry.

But ALL I am doing here, and you really have to understand that. Because Zack knows that, the moderators know that, Shadow and Bob and Kevin and the other know that, all I am doing here has to be seen in the light of Splinter Cell games.

I never said Blacklist is a bad game. On the contrary I find it to be a very good game.

Now I said Blacklist is just average. Well, an average Splinter Cell game.

I'm no blind defender of all things Ubisoft here. If I don't like something they did, I TELL them. If I like something they did, I TELL them.

Every critic you will ever hear from me has to be regarded as criticism on the HIGHEST LEVEL. Because that's what a Splinter Cell game has to be for me. On the highest level.

This means comparisons to previous games, the legacy, the things that made Splinter Cell big. That means criticism about things I don't like without hesitation, but with thorough analysis, at least most of the times.

On the highest level because Splinter Cell DESERVES to be seen in such a light.

Do you think I would be so detailed in analysis, so passionate about things I think are wrong or are not as good as they should be, or things that are good but improvable, if I wouldn't LOVE this franchise to the BONES?

This is my favorite franchise of ALL GAMES I EVER PLAYED. This is my baby. MORE OR LESS. This is where my heart as gamer beats, where my interest for stealth started, where I played some of the BEST LEVELS EVER CREATED IN VIDEO GAMES in my eyes.

And THIS is how I see Splinter Cell. THIS is how it is evaluated by me.

There is no mercy, no excuses with me. All I am saying is nothing but the FACTUAL COLD TRUTH about how I personally feel about EVERY LITTLE INCH OF THIS FRANCHISE.

And THIS is the reason why I am contributing here, why my voice is heard, why old elements came back, why Splinter Cell will improve.

Because of MY feedback and the one of those out there like me. Those Bobs and Kevins, those Gunnuts and Aznassassins, those Blues and SolidSages, those Shobits and Shadowfoxes, those who believe in every word the write here and tell their HONEST view about things.

I would never "kick Ubisoft in the trash". What I do is I analyze.

Splinter Cell is not comming back because of action and explosives.

No, the selling numbers are as I expected them to be and the only reason Splinter Cell is successful is because it brought back old elements, because it listened to the hardcore FANS, which btw. most probably own a majority of the sold games we are talking about here.

So don't you dare insinuation I would be someone who makes Ubisoft and Splinter Cell bad and then, if I see it is more successful than I though wave back and do as if I never said that. I do NOT do that.

I LOVE Splinter Cell, be assured of that. And I am HONEST about my opinion.

Funny how we got confirmation of DLC from this report first. I wonder if an official announcement for 2014 DLC would have been made within a couple days or a week or two. Now I can continue to enjoy Blacklist for what it is until new expansions come in 2014. It only makes sense for the DLC to come after the holidays. The DLC would have probably been shadowed by all the new triple A games and next-gen consoles anyways. As long as it helps bring SvM players back, and provide us with outstanding DLC that could potentially be better level design than maps in the main game (like Conviction's Deniable Ops DLC maps).

Interesting. My hope is for more SP/co-op maps as SC is still primarily a single player game for me (and then co-op, then SvM) so I hope any DLC has both SvM AND SP/co-op content and not just one or the other.

Maybe 2 Grim missions, 2 Kobin missions, and 4 SvM missions? I'd actually prefer 4 Grim Missions but I doubt they'd do that.

Page 27 shows that DLC for Consoles and PCs will be coming for:

    - Splinter Cell Blacklist
    - Far Cry 3
    - Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag

    No specifics given.

Also: Blacklist sales currently confirmed at just under 2 mil units, like we estimated.

    *eye twitch*

...why...why would you just get rid of your games? That...makes NO sense to me. I'm keeping my 360 since, yknow, the One isn't backwards compatible and I'll want to play 360 games from time to time...
