    pls dont kidding me with such an riot shild....

    @ UnluckyBadTouch there should be no "tank classes or ather ones". The Division wants to distance himself from other MMORPGS.

    i mean send one in front in a building and he is blocking all bullets? make my day.... (counterstrike 1.6 riot shild no one use it and why? its totaly crap)

    such items should not implement in that game... Strategy ftw.... and grps with teamplay dont need such items ts/razorcoms and aim are the best things to survive

    greeeeeeeeeeeeeeetz

    edit: youre best friends: youre gun, youre aim, walls and cars

    I honestly have no idea what you were trying to say. The gameplay video had what looked like a tank, medic, and dps specialized load outs. So to say they are trying to distance themselves from the holy trinity doesn't seem likely. Also, did I miss something where they said they are trying to be an MMO because I keep seeing people say it, but haven't read anywhere with an Ubi representative saying they were shooting for an MMO. Could I get an Ubi rep to clarify this for me please?

    Sending someone into a building and have them "block all bullets?" That isn't what a ballistic shield does. Class IIIA blocks small arms fire, not all bullets. Please read the comments in a thread to educate yourself on the topic before replying with incoherent babble please.

    If you can see the different layers of strategy this could add both for a team deploying into a CQC Situation, and for a team preparing for whether or not the other team have one it kind of boggles my mind. This is a game where you can take advantage of destructive physics. If you think you are safe on the other side of a wall made from drywall if the guy on the other side has a Kriss Vector you are sadly mistaken. Cars in indoor CQC situations may help if you do a lot of your fighting in a parking garage. In an office building not so much. This is not CoD. That cubicle wall isn't going to save your life.

    If you think strategy is nothing more than comms and aim then I pray I never find myself on your team. I hope you can convey what you mean better over comms, lest your teammates will never be able to understand the genius of your high strategy.

    @Noir; a couple of things, the devs have referensed on multiple occations the holy trinity and how you are not locked into a class but and can change tactics on the fly. and actually the use of the trinity or not is actually not up to the devs but rather the players. The secret world spoke highly about how they would remove the trinity and every one could be what they wanted, but play the game and everyone runs builds to one of the three, only difference is you can be all three on one char, hence the classless.
    the devs have also repetedly said this is not a mmo, but an online rpg. the difference being that mmo's always share the same world and you run into players everywhere. the division will only do this in certain areas, or when you specifically want to coop. most of the game is still singleplayer(or coop if in group).
    Also, what are you communicating over TS and the like(also the division will have intigrated VoIP i belive) if not tactics? and the coversystem is only a way to supplement the way you can use tactics.
    the tactics is to overcome you adversary, for example if you have someone with a riotshield coming down the corridor. send your guy to flank him, toss a grenade, smokegrenade and flank him yourself or run away to a more favorable battleground.
    also aim is on dice roll in this game atleast partially, so your own aim might not give you that much of an advantage.

    @BadTouch; In regards to the MMO part, devs have stated this is NOT a mmo but a ORPG. e3 interviews i belive.
    Also great point on the drywall cubicle remarks! hope this is how it will work ingame, same with car doors and the like in regards to riflegradebullets.

    @Ferin_Sha; Reply of the week

    But lets try keep it civil. and on topic.

    Just saying holograms, seeker mines, AR contact lenses that are powered via eye lid movement are not available.... Everything in the gameplay was slightly futuristic. The experiment was done in 2007 and shield was composed right after. Yes they were released 3 weeks after the collapse but no date of that or time frame after the division was created was mentioned. Just going off of what is being done now I would say it's set in the near future. Supposedly night vision contacts were used on the bin laden kill but AR contacts as far as I know haven't even been speculated yet. They are just now trying to finish the glasses version so a lens would be farther off for sure.

    @unlucky:

    Agreed. I would definitely have some fun with a riot shield that could scan buildings and some other neat features.

    I love watching people hide behind car doors in movies while M16s and AK47s can't penetrate the door to the people behind it. I knew it wasn't an MMO, I just don't understand why people want to keep trying to make it out to be one. With the way the video looks, I think we can count on accurate physics and destruction.

    I don't agree. That will be another cheese weapon to use just like in the last ghost recon with that tazing gun. Just bring the hand guns,PDW weapons, carbins, and assault guns. And maybe some RPGS.

    Yea, RPG down a narrow hallway in a building is much less cheese than a ballistic shield.

    Also, no one would crap themselves as they are hiding behind a car and all of a sudden see it flip over them in a fiery ball of LOL as they are thrown 15 feet backwards.

    I agree with UBT. There is definitely a way for the ballistic shield to be implemented so that it will be fair and useful. I'm sure the developers could design enough weaknesses to make it something enjoyable but not something that will be abused. There is a way to implement pretty much anything so that it works cohesively it will just take more work for somethings. The developers seem to be putting in the time and I trust that they could make the ballistic shield fun, useful, and most importantly not overpowered.
