    [What's new?] #4 - Streaks

    GENERAL UPDATE
The Streak and Bonus system was suffering from various problems on AC3:
    - The two types of Streaks (silent/normal) and bonuses (Death/Contract loss) confused some players.
    - All Streaks and bonuses were based on the same value, which created balancing issues.

That is why we decided to get rid of the way we considered streaks and bonuses in AC3.

There are two main types of players on ACMP: Free runners and Stealth players. We want to provide a good experience to all of them.

So players now have a counter that increases depending on their type of kills or on completed team objectives. Players can now adapt their play style to their opponents, without having to worry too much for the Streak they selected.

Same goes for the Bonuses, with a counter that decreases more or less depending on the severity of the situation.

Kills Streaks and Loss Bonuses are spread out of a ladder of values: it’s easier to trigger a smaller effect than the big Animus Hack.

    Updates:
    • Kills Streak counter increases by 1 on a kill or a stun, and by 2 on a Silent Kill or a Team objective (Score with the Artifact, Capture a Domination zone, or score 200 pts while hiding in Manhunt).
    • Loss Bonus counter increases by 1 on a Contract Loss (kill a civilian or get poached), and by 2 on a death or a stun suffered.
    • The Streak or the Bonus present in the profile set automatically activates when the counter reach the corresponding value.
    • This counter is immediately reset to 0 when a streak or a bonus is triggered. That prevents any possible exploit (that existed on AC3).

    STREAK - REVELATION
We reconsidered Revelation as a Kill Streak. We think that playing with one’s pursuers is more an advanced thing than a real help, and that it opens to game to more strategies.

    Updates:
    • Revelation is now a Kill Streak (from a Loss Bonus).
    • Activates when the Streak counter reaches 5 points.

    STREAK - MASS MORPH
Mass Morph was an interesting effect introduced on AC3 that suffered a Streak Counter maybe too high to worth it, compared to other streaks. We updated the streak to be triggered easier, with an effect adapted to its new streak value.

    Updates:
    • Activates when the Streak counter reaches 7 points.
    • Morph a maximum of 15 Civilians within a range of 12 meters (from 20 Civilians, 15 meters).

    STREAK - STREAK +250 POINTS
    Updates:
    • Activates when the Streak counter reaches 8 points.
    • Rewards 250 points.

    STREAK - STREAK +550 POINTS
    Updates:
    • Activates when the Streak counter reaches 11 points.
    • Rewards 550 points.

    STREAK - ANIMUS HACK
Animus Hack can have a huge impact on the game, often offering the victory to the player who triggers it in FFA modes, or giving a big advantage for his team in Team modes. For this reason, we make it slightly harder to trigger.

    Updates:
    • Activates when the Streak counter reaches 13 points.
    • Rewards 100 points on first hack, then increases this reward by 100 points on each new hack.

    STREAK - DAZE (NEW)
We introduce a new kind of effect with AC4: the possibility to be covered by countering multiples opponents in a range. When Daze activates, any target or pursuer within its range will be impacted and slowed down for a few seconds.

    Parameters:
    • Activates when the Streak counter reaches 5 points.
    • Reduces opponents in a range of 8 meters to 25% of their speed. Lasts 4.5 seconds.
    • Minimizes opponents’ action range to its minimum on hit.

    BONUS – CHANGE SET
Balance its trigger to the effect.

    Updates:
    • Activates when the Loss counter reaches 2 points.
    • Let the player change their profile set for free.

    BONUS – SCAVENGER
We introduced two effects we found interesting on AC3 with Scavenger (increase the reward for Ground Finish) and Shadow Approach (Fasten the Approach Meter). It appeared these two bonuses were too conditional and limited while independent. These 2 effects are now mixed in one.

    Updates:
    • Activates when the Loss counter reaches 5 points.
    • While active, rewards any Ground Finish with 200 points and makes the approach meter increase faster.

    BONUS – VISION
    Updates:
    • Activates when the Loss counter reaches 7 points.
    • Reveals targets on screen, or their position through walls.

    BONUS – MINOR HACK
    Updates:
    • Activates when the Loss counter reaches 9 points.
    • Let the player kill their next target from distance.

    BONUS – SCORE X2
    Updates:
    • Activates when the Loss counter reaches 10 points.
    • Double the points rewarded with the next Stun, or the points rewarded with the Approach of the next kill performed.

    BONUS – RESET COOLDOWNS
    Updates:
    • Activates when the Loss counter reaches 12 points.
    • Resets all cooldowns in progress once triggered. Then and while active, reduce by 50% all ability cooldowns.

Since I still dont have a game I have 1 question. What happens when player changes set (on death) while having loss streak activated?
Traditionally (ACB, ACR and AC3 before patching) player would recieve new loss streak. For example player triggered reset cooldowns then died. If this player selects another set with score x2 in it that player will have x2.
In AC3 after patching player loses loss streak completely after changing sets.

@Anykeyer: The counter is reset when a loss streak is triggered so you cannot multiply an effect.

Im not talking about multiplying. Assuming listed AC4 values and ACB/ACR mechanic (those games didnt have AC3 exploit) I could get x2 (10 points) then decide I dont want it and switch to reset cooldown. Then I would temporarily lose loss streak, but only required to get another 2 points (for a total of 12) to get reset cooldowns. So its about switching, not having both or having one unrestricted (AC3 exploit)
Ok, In AC4 I can't change to another loss streak even if it requires lower count.
But what happens to previous loss streak after changing set? Is it going to be removed leaving player with absolutely nothing? AC3 post-patch works like this and it's very bad IMO. Basically It forces to choose between losing loss streak and staying at the same set.
