On my computer I don't have to put the disc in to play the game. Once it's loaded on to play the game and the UPLAY gets its confirmation you are good to go at playing the game. The next time you play the disc can sit on the shelf and you can play "offline" -not be connnected to the internet, or you can play 'online' and start thru UPLAY.Originally Posted by epicfail331 Go to original post
Unless he unloaded the game off his computer it wouldn't matter that he lost the disc.
If he offloaded the game, then I guess UPLAY would have a record of his authenticating his purchase and should allow him to download it as one cannot sell the disc to another because without the authentication code (provided with the disc) for UPLAY it's worthless. Of course someone may buy without knowing that.
When you buy a digital version from Uplay, you have have 30 days for the initial download. Once you have activated the game, you can re-download and re-install as many times as you want on various PC's from the same Uplay account used to activate it. Its important to keep your CD keys handy though in case you run into any trouble, so you will have no issues verifying your account with Support if you need to.
It's also recommended to always back up your download.
