Riff Repeater - How to Stop Before Individual Notes?

In the new 2014 edition, how can I get the riff repeater to stop on individual notes if I do not play them? Thanks.

I think they took this "Free Speed" mode out because many people didn't like it. I'm a bit disappointed, because I think it could sometimes be useful, but now with previews and missed note indicators, it has lost most of its value.

Wow that is really disappointing, considering that's how i was able to read a lot of the more complicated sections. Hopefully they can put this in a patch sometime soon.

    Sad.

I mean I hate this Free Speed because it is often very unclear WHICH not you supposed to play next, scrolling back and forth, on the fret 6 notes at once. Unplayable.

But now instead of fixing this and make it a handy tool they deleted it.

I agree that it is often too difficult to see the notes on fast, complex parts. I often have to pause it and try to figure it out by ear. I wish that if you paused it in riff repeater, they had a "see chart" button that would display the tab. That way it would be easier to see the note order and timing. Free speed was unusable with the speed shifts.

i hope they get it back to stop at each note if u miss it.
it will help to figure out how all the notes play together i need to watch my guitar and see where the next note is heading and then it gets too late and i miss my next note too
RS please get me that option

This would be a better option than Free Speed; I think everyone was using Free Speed as a workaround for the lack of this feature.

I would agree this is the (only?) gap in the riff repeater/learn a song flow.

If all this is true, then this is a major screw up and is totally unacceptable. Without question the game needs some sort of freeze mode where the action stops and you can see in detail what notes to play. It is true that free speed sucked, but a freeze mode existed in accelerator which was the most useful riff repeater function. I've been messing with riff repeater in 2014 and I can find no way to freeze the action. If no such capability exists, then this is unforgivably awful and I regret buying this game. Unless this feature exists somewhere and it is pointed out, then I recommend anyone considering buying this game avoid it like the plague. You have to be able to site read your material, and you can't do that unless the music is stationary. If they failed to include this feature, what on earth could the developers been thinking? The best you could do right now is play it at an ungodly slow speed. I always liked the way the old accelerator would stop and let you look at your notes on the trial run. The only thing bad about free speed was that you didn't need it. You got the same feature from accelerator. It would come to a screeching halt. So far, at least for the basic functions that I care about, I see little about Rocksmith 2014 that is an improvement over the original. Maybe the integration of all the riff repeater functions with a variety of settings is a slight improvement, but that's about it.

I'm going to caveat my words first by saying that maybe I'm missing something, but so far I have an extremely negative opinion of this game. in other words it really sucks. For me, and I'm sure a lot of other people, riff repeater was the single most important feature. I know I spent far more time in riff repeater than I did playing songs. As clunky as it was, you could make the old interface work for you, particularly in accelerator. You had a means to see exactly what notes you needed to play and at an appropriate speed. You could rig it to stop in its tracks when you missed a note, and carefully observe what was next. You could pause it and then at the touch of a button have it resume right from where you paused. The new riff repeater is awful in this regard. If you pause and resume, it starts the section from the very beginning of the section and resets your speed to 100%. WTF? I can't overemphasize how much this sucks. If I missed some features, well all I can say that the "manual" is a joke, so the fault lies with the product. I'm sorry man, it sucks. I would gladly go back to the very original riff repeater with the 5 lives. I really liked the first Rocksmith with all its faults, and I really wanted to like this one. Unfortunately with all the cool new features, they failed where it counts. I doubt that I'll be the only one who feels this way.

THIS is the answer and one of my top pet peeves with RS: NO tab layout so you can see a difficult arrangement in full before you try to mash it out with your fingers.

I have no problem with pitching that mode. It needed to go as it was a poor mode of learning, BUT that requires the ability to see the arrangement, which RS hasn't added.
