Let me start by saying I'm thrilled Ubisoft has allowed the fans to participate in Farcry 3's beta for PC by buying the game early. I'm really impressed that the AI, graphics and gameplay look so polished even at this early stage. There are a few tweaks I'd ask for before the game launches like being able to use the camera to tag enemies while in the hang glider, but don't change the overall game formula by any means. I'm having a lot of fun playing it between the crashes that seem to happen every 15 to 20 minutes. The best feedback I could give would be to fully commit the team to optimization and release this game officially ASAP!
Again, thank you so much for letting the players get a crack at the game before it goes gold on the PC platform. I'm really looking forward to the finished product once it's adequately optimized and ready for launch. I've included my specs below so you have somewhere to start.
Intel I7 4770K CPU 3.5GHz
AMD HD 7800 series color guard
8 GB RAMM Corsair
Windows 7 Home 64 bit
One more thing though, is there any word on an official release date? I checked the Uplay store and it only shows where you can buy to access the Beta.
I got my beta access a couple weeks ago bundled with my purchase of the AMD graphics card listed above. I downloaded directly from Uplay, so I definitely have a legit beta pass.Originally Posted by flybyme Go to original post
Uuummm, how could I have edited my post without getting the little last edited by... notice underneath? When a game goes gold it means it's finished and printed onto disks. It's a bit of an anachronism in this case since I accessed this prerelease version through digital download on Uplay.Originally Posted by Butcherbird59 Go to original post
Is there some confusion about the beta program? I'll admit it was kind of strange that there weren't more promos about this. Ubisoft could really communicate better on this. I could have mistaken the download page on the Uplay store for the actual game. It would be downright silly to think that though. The lack of stability can only mean they're still finalizing the PC version and it hasn't cleared the standard for final release. Afterall, why would a company with as good a reputation as Ubisoft put out an unfinished product?
Not sure what about your beta but shops here in OZ still have the retail version on DVD:

The lack of stability? yes, I agree it looks like betaware quality and a lot of people have to live with that ... depending on overclock/hardware issues may play a role for some. Other than that your choice to buy again from UBI.
They're not doing anything. They stopped supporting this 5 months ago.Originally Posted by Szocik87 Go to original post
