It is going to end soon, I am actually quite surprised that ammars dont run 4 days of sanctuary by default, but they probably will soon.Originally Posted by majin622 Go to original post
Oddly enough fatties aren't so bad as long as she wont play earth grasp early (at this point i always know that next 8 cards on top of my deck are paos and shadow images), Takana also isnt so bad. Top one enemy is Ishuma - once he get 3 might, he seems to have countles numbers of snow maidens and coral priestesses and this combo just wipes you, recently also Adar Malik is annoying - every single one seems to start with 4 spitters in hand and this is only necro creature you dont like, especially if there is more than 2 of them.Originally Posted by majin622 Go to original post
I don't play often lately, and thus I have not a lot of occasions to fight against Ammar. Here is my last game against him. Dhamiria's skill help a lot for sure.

That is encouraging! Maybe our playstyles or lists are different.Originally Posted by Pascoalabear Go to original post
Do you run Dhamiria Fatties or Dhamiria Slowpoke with Thrones, etc.? I have been running Dhamiria Fatties.
What is your strategy against Ammar? I have been trying to be aggressive, but that has not been working. Even T2 Succubus, T3 Juggernaut, T4 Lilim, T5 Maniac is not enough. Their Shields stall for a couple turns until they can use their removal spells to wipe the board. Once I have no board presence, I am done. I can use Insect Swarm and Forbidden Flame to wipe out their first and second wave of creatures, but then they stick a creatue + Ice Shield + Ice Shield + Day of Sanctuary. I can't kill it the very next turn, and then they combo.
What am I doing wrong!?
Thanks for the help.

Creatures / Fatties / Midrange / Lock, whatever you want to call it.Originally Posted by coinmagic45 Go to original post
There are multiple avenues we have of beating them, which is why the matchup is so good.
1) Discarding Removal and sticking a Void Arbiter
2) Picking off their creatures early and locking them out of creatures with Hellfire Maniac (suprisingly one of your best cards in the matchup)
Same idea works with any of the attack anywhere guys, but that plan usually only happens after you stopped their first combo turn and stabilized.
3) Survive a combo attempt and then wipe the board, stabilize from there (any of your lockpieces afterwards or just big creatures flooding the board)
I usually try to take minimal damage early and as long as my plan isnt to Void Arbiter them, ill almost always prioritize Icy Weapons over everything else when discarding. Doom Bringer is your best way to clean up after he combod off, because it ignores Ice Shells, but sometimes combining FireBolts with Hellfire Maniac works aswell, depending on how many Monsoons and Ice Shells he has out.
Cards that help improve the matchup are additional Void Arbiters and Halls of Amnesia. Having access to a Void Judgment lategame is helpful, but not essential to your success.
Thanks for the advice!Originally Posted by Pascoalabear Go to original post
I do not currently run Arbiters, but I may need to change that up. I have 7 Seria's Last Order (including 2 foils) but only 1 Arbiter... I'll have to figure out what to remove to add them. My 1 Caller would be an obvious choice for the first. Maybe one Hellfire Bloaters for the 2nd. Not sure about the 3rd.
I already run 3 Halls, so I'm good there.
I'll have to keep trying. It seems like the matchup should be good for Dhamiria but I can't figure it out! Would you post your exact list as a reference?
