Unbelievable- bought the game yesterday, I have enjoyed SH3 for so long. Loaded SH5 and the hour of updates and spent about 1hr trying to figure out how to play it. I came in this morning, and tried to load the game for another session. 3 1/2 hours later, after uninstalling and reinstalling and several other attempts it still wont play.I click on the icon, get to the PLAYscreen click play and it just disappears and won't load, finally I get a message saying my graphics card is not compatable - I played it yesterday no probs. I have an old one a Nvidia 9600GT I am not a high end gamer and find this one runs MS flight sims and other games no problems. I am downloading the latest driver I can find on the net (although this card is now unsupported) - pain it worked yesterday. If it don't work now, I will use the disc as a frisbee after seeing all the other problems people have had

You could try contacting Tech Support and see what they have to say.
There is something else you might try. There is a new Submarine Game coming out that you play online from Ubi. It is in beta testing right now so if you were interested in trying it out just go to Silent Hunter Online and check it out.

Thanks for the link, well I guess I have wasted my money and time on this , I have just spent around 10 hours today, reinstalling, deleting, reinstalling, managed to get about half an hours play out of it today. it is so frustrating I don't know what to do, i was really looking forward to having a go with it, but have wasted my whole day for a small play. Are there any cracks to help me ? I have searched the net, and downloaded some but they are not helping, not sure what to chuck out of the window first, the disc or the computer ggrrrrrrr

Here is the thing with this game, without SERIOUS mods it sucks. However if you get the right mods and are willing to take the time and apply them (I believe I have right at 100 mods installed, maybe a few more or less) this is a fantastic game.Originally Posted by ssamerica Go to original post
As far as the video card issue, I had the same problem with my old pc running 2 9600's in SLI, never could get it right, crashed a lot. Even on my new machine with an i7, 32 gigs of ram and two 580 GTX cards in full SLI, it says that my video card is not compatible. It runs just fine though. I wish you the best of luck, like I stated get it right and this is one fantastic game. Oh and by the way, I have owned every silent hunter game so far, 3 was my favorite.
