    *biological hazards* / *player infection*

I've yet to hear anything about how they're handling the BIOLOGICAL DAMAGE taken out on players from the flu that's caused all the devastation. Not that it's written in stone, but on the game play video you can see a civilian on the left who has "Gone Red" and then you are shown on the HUD / U.I. that she is Contagious. I also saw the respirator snugly tucked into the top of the pack on the demonstration character's back.

1: Can a player become infected? Is it a permanent ordeal or is it Temporary?

2: What kind of damages will be introduced to an unprotected player? ( if any )

3: Would it harm the player's health whenever he/she is exposed or would it be some sort of "De-Buff" effecting your player until death, medical attention, or extraction?

4: Will there be different masks that provide varying degrees of protection against infection?

5: Will the masks require maintenance, such as replacement filters? Will they have a "condition"? Perhaps to avoid using it unless needed or else why wouldn't most players just run around with their masks on all the time to avoid any possible contagions.

6: Assuming the masks will be required to be worn on occasion, would the character automatically adorn it when needed, or would the player have to select it in his inventory and equip it?

7: If masks can be worn, do they also help with fighting other hazardous agents? Such as "tear gas", "mace", or ( if tinted ) "flash-bangs"?

8: What about other universal protection? Will players need to be careful equipping items found if they're contaminated with infected blood?

9: Will players need to filter their water, and stockpile antibiotics in case of infection?

10: If a player can become infected, are there varying degrees of how sick they will become? Perhaps at first they just sneeze and cough, causing them to give away their positions during stealthy missions. Minutes later, untreated, the player now suffers from impaired vision, and has some trouble maneuvering as easily as they did just minutes ago. A few more minutes left untreated the player starts being overwhelmed with uncontrollable waves of blood-speckled nausea as possibly the last stage before death.

    Questions? Ideas? Thoughts?

    Appreciate your time!

Very interesting topic m8, i cant w8 to see what this detail is gonna be like in game : ) . I'm hoping that it will be a big part of the experience since it has a lot to do with realistic survival.

some of the things OP talks about is cool, but its been stated that the game is a RPG, not a survival simulator.

How ever, I must stress out that the use of the gasmask would be cool to see.
