If TDU1 was anything to go by then there should already be plenty of intrinsic motivation to play The Crew for a long time, but it would still be great to throw more reasons in there for doing the single-player campaign more than once (besides getting a corrupt profile)

For example, in Driver SF, there was New Game+, where you started the career again but you kept all of your money and purchased cars from before.
In Spyro 2 on PSX, you could overwrite your 100% gamesave with a new one and you would have unlimited super-fire-breath powerup for the entire game (might've needed a cheat code for that)
In Tony Hawks 3 on PC - each map had some different tasks/achievements, although you could create a new profile at any time and have a random chance at getting either set.
In TDU1, it would've been nice to be able to redo all the single player challenges in Hardcore physics mode.

So for the 2nd time you could make certain things easier (obviously you'd keep current vehicles and money), but there's no reason not to to make certain parts harder, or just different. Here are a few ideas for the second run through the career events (everyone feel free to add to the list):

1. Different ToD.
In the video previews we've seen so far, events appear to be locked to a certain time of day/weather. i.e. Miami Burn always is at 3pm. In the second run, you could change either set it to night time for greater challenge, or just unlock it so that the event uses whatever the game time was when the player selected it from free-ride mode. Perhaps in a city-based race you could simulate icy road conditions (even if you didn't change the visuals, just reduce the grip levels), for a fun multiplayer race with friends where you try to avoid slowly crashing on every corner.

2. Different eligible vehicles
For example, you might naturally expect players to pick tuned SUV or Raid vehicles for an offroad race, but for the second run, why not restrict them to something a bit more wacky - like an old Mini or Citroen 2CV. Depending on the event type and exact location, the player may even need to make up a new route to get to the next checkpoint if they can't climb a certain hill.

3. Different roles
Thinking along the lines of the Challenge Series in the original NFS Most Wanted, where certain events had you in the police car or even a traffic car/slow garbage truck, etc. The old NFS 2 + 3 games on PC also could let you drive the traffic cars via cheat codes. So when you launch an event the second time (after completing all events once), instead of just doing the same race again, you're chasing the racer (the game could remember what car you used the first time around and use that as the car you have to chase - so if you picked the best car the first time, it'll be harder to chase them later).

4. Different direction
Instead of racing clockwise around a circuit or from Point A to Point B, race anti-clockwise / Point B to Point A. This might create new obstacles in off-road events, or open new shortcuts (driving down a mountain for example)

5. Different traffic
The second time you do a race in New York city, fill up the streets with as much traffic as possible to simulate rush hour. Just for the luls.

6. Harder requirements
You might not be allowed to get any damage, or you might start the event off with full damage and a slower car. Maybe it's a night race and your headlights broke so you can barely see anything while offroad.

If you get a good mix of these changes where some events are easier, harder, different, or just a bit weird/fun then we others who might have not purchased this game won't see it as 'just another car game' but would pick it up and play through it to get to these new versions of them. And of course it would be loads more fun for us who are already fans.

If it is too much work to do this in the form of New Game + like DriverSF, then please consider doing a selection of events like this in the form of a Challenge Series (like NFS MW). This of course could be released after the game as DLC while we're all busy trying to complete the game.
