    Scoping In, First Person Aiming

Has anyone seen anything about this area of play. Obviously, there are snipers; there is going to be scoping in, but in the reveal, they guy with the 45vector would only shoulder aim, and wouldn't scope in. It seems like that forcing you to hip/shoulder fire takes away from skill that a player might have, and puts more of an emphasis on time played.

personally, I'd want an AR with an acog scope, and I would want to quickscope even the closest of enemy.

"Will the shooting/combat system be focused on RPG features like skills, damage, statistics, and critical hits? Or will it be more a more traditional skill-based shooter?

We are an RPG first and foremost. So the emphasis for the game is definitely on skill/talent synergies along with your weapon characteristics. We are a Clancy game, we are also an open-world game but really we’re an RPG first. Gear will be important, levels will be important, modifications to weapons will be important… everything that makes a fantastic RPG will be important to the game."

this is the closest answer i think we have, but it does not really answer your question.

My personal thoughts is that you will be able to "scope in" as long as you have one form or other of scope attached. If not, you seem to not be able to go to ironsights.

thanks, I didn't think anyone knew for sure. One would think; you have an optic on your gun, you use it. but i could see that maybe they think a first person scope view takes away from the rpg factor.

I'm hoping the reveal controls were LT to shoulder aim; Right Stick to scope, and they either didn't have that scoping game mechanic down 100% or, they wanted to show the environment and player model all the time.

planetside 2 had scopes on guns that didn't zoom in.............but yes, its an RPG first and a shooter second.

I would really like the ability to zoom in with scoped weapons....

You'll probably be able to scope in with scoped weapons. Iron sights and RDS variants maybe not.

Personally I feel like there are too many doom theories about what they could do wrong... floating about.

I know it's an RPG, but I sincerely hope that "quick-scoping" won't be in the game.
To clarify: by quick-scoping, I'm talking about 'flicking' to your scope and being able to instantly fire; it's just not realistic! I'm happy to have the ability to fire whenever you like (in an ambush it could mean life or death!), but being able to instantly focus in on a target and shoot him when scoping is silly. Add maybe a quarter or half a second of "focusing" before being able to fully see. (obviously this doesn't apply to 1x scopes like Red-Dots etc.)

As far as I know, there really is no way to fix "quick scoping" without making the gun sway drastically when scoping in.

My current stance on the topic is kind of neutral, as I do it myself :3. Don't get me started on APB jump-shotting :/.

most games seem like they are .25 seconds scope time, which seems to be a good balance. I usually spray during those .25 seconds to get ~3 shots off first, anyway. it's what bosses do

MW3 was the last fps shooter i played, and i remember black ops drastically tried to end quick-scoping; they randomized where the scope would go to, adding a dramatic sway at time: 0 and the scope was blurry at first. I didn't like it, but i understood the attempt.
