I nevertheless recommend to you to update once again that patch the reference on which I gave to you above. Your version same, but it can be bad. Update on the same version from this link - can do everything will earn. Try. As speak at us in Russia: attempt not torture (at us it sounds in a rhyme: popytka ne pytka).Originally Posted by sarmaxion Go to original post
I hate to repeat myself this many times, but I already tried to patch with the file from the link you provided and installer wouldn't start. I just got the message that Rayman Legends hasn't been installed, which is weird..I hope I'm clear now. I can't patch the game manually, I get that error message..And it is already patched to that version
Those people for who at present can connect to Ubi servers, which is the exact version number cureently displayed in the game start screen? I used to be able to connect, now I cannot and my version is 1.1.100477
The patch from the link cannot be installed because I have bought the game in steam so the steam is supposed to update the game. That patch is for version bought directly from Ui shop that are installed.
I've found a solution for this.
I was able to enter challenges/leaderboard from the start but my country was shown as USA which was botherig me. So I started playing around with settings in Uplay and Windows and in the end could not even enter challenges/leaderboards any more receiving that "Ubisoft servers are momentarily unavailable' error. And now I am able to enter the challenges again and have found what the displayed country/flag depends on.
The flag and also, believe it or not, server availability depends on the operating system locale setting (language for non-Unicode programs). You can change it by going to (windows 8) Control Panel > Region > Administrative tab and under Language for non-Unicode programs, choose Change System Locale.
Note: It is also recommended that you set the country in the Home Location setting under the neighboring Location tab to the same country as in the Locale. I thought that this setting does not affect access to Ubisoft servers, but even though it worked regardless of what I choose here first, then, the same error about access to servers started to popping up again, and setting also the proper Location helped me to deal with it!
Now, it is important what language you select there. It affects the in-game country/flag in challenges (e.g. Russian (Russia) -> will display Russia in game) You must select the language that represents a country available in the game and that list is quite limited. If you set that system locale setting under Administrative tab and/or the "Home Location" setting under Location tab to the <Language> (<Country>) not available in the game (like "Ukrainian (Ukraine)" in my case), the game will not be ble to connect to the servers, because, I believe, it cannot show your country - it was not added by developers to the game.
So if the country you live in or would like to represent in the game is not "popular" for game-makers, there's a high chance it is not present in this game and you will not be able to see your flag or acess server in case you set up the system locale for that country. Obviously, if you select a language in system locale that does not represent the language of your country, the in-game flag/country will be the one that you select.
For now, until they add more/all countries to the game, at least this is a workaround to acess the challenge mode.
Here is a list of countries that I have come across in the Challenges/leaderboards mode that should 100% work if you select the corresponding system locale language (the list probably not full, just what I met or could identify in the mishmash of flags, - no easy way in game to see them all - you will have to experiment to find out whether a country is in the game or not):
USA (means that for this country you need to set system locale to "English (United States) and so on)
Russia
France
Germany
Denmark
Spain
Poland
Australia
Great Britain
Finland
Sweeden
Belgium
South Korea
Brazil
China
Czech Republic
That's pretty much it. Not much, isn't it? Maybe I missed a couple as they were not shown on my leaderboards - the rest you will have to check yourself, guys. Please if you find another supported country, add it in the comments and I'll update the list.
Among the system locales that you should not choose is definitely Ukrainian (Ukraine) because it is not present in the game as of now.
For system locale changes to take effect, you must restart the game and Uplay, and in some cases PC if the operating system prompts to do so.
If this method does not help, your inability to access servers might be coused by something else, but this should work for most people. Also I've noticed that after I have fixed this, the error that servers are momentarily unavailable right now still pops up once in a while, but this time they are truly MOMENTARILY unavailable, and I can acess them again in a short while.
@Ubisoft How could you not add all countries?! You'd better fix this rather sooner than later!
Thanks for this, I was just about to almost sam solution I found. I didn't change Language for non-Unicode programs/Change System Locale , just in regional settings my country to th eone i found the game selected for me after I finished one of the invaded levels. It was France(I live in Serbia).A also changed regional settings(date and time) to France/French and then I was able to access Challenges and Leaderboards. So it is not neccesary to change language Change System Locale, but you have to change country in Location tab and time and date formats in Formats tab all to the same country. Can't believe that Ubisoft made such an error with this, but it's a simple solution. Thanks denisfdrv for detailed explanation and list of countries from the Leaderboards.
Thanks. I changed my password to just letters and numbers, and now I'm able to reach the Challenges.Originally Posted by Powerhero Go to original post
