Separate forums for PC and console?

Now that the PC version has been confirmed I'd like to request a split in the boards sooner rather than later. It's the cause of far too much noise and thread derailment IMO. I see its common practice on the forums here and I assume it'll happen at some point... Again, just hoping it's soon.

I second this. Partly because there is way too much tension in some of these console vs PC arguments. (I'm included in that rabble!)
And because I'd prefer to discuss weapon types, rather than what the PC requirements will be!

Why divide the community? The games are going to be very similar on PC and consoles and the weapon types and other game features are going to be same in both versions. I don't care if it console gamer who i'm talking to even if i only play on PC. If you keep insisting that there is tension then you are probably part of the problem. Don't take it so seriously. I don't. Can't you just get along

We could have a subforum for people interested in PC stuff like graphics tweaking, screenshots, modding etc. though but keep the main forum for the more general things.

I think you just answered your own question :P
It's not about dividing the community, it's about keeping the relevant threads active. For example, there are a couple of threads about the map, weapon types and other details, that repeatedly are getting lost within all the chatter about the PC system and requirements. For a console user, we don't need to see any of this, as it is arguably irrelevant to us, and therefore a split, or sub-forum (good idea by the way) would work wonderfully to combat this.

As for the console vs PC wars, I don't take it seriously. However I do get irritated with completely bias posts about how one platform is better than the other. (which sadly, is usually a bias from PC users) Both platforms are equally as good, but for different reasons. I simply choose console as I don't have the money to keep up with the PC market, and I'm more of a casual gamer anyway!

My point was that i don't want to see PC, ps4 or xbox gamers put in different compartments. At least this is what i got from ops and yours post. What i want is better organization of things, not separation of the community. Subforums for clans etc.

Many people seem to keep fighting over which is better, PS4 or Xbox one. It seems to be completely fine to scoff xbox one because PS4 has more rams, flops or how much better the games look. Then if a PC gamer says that he likes PC version more and have valid reasons for that or comment on next-gen game graphics, he is called elitist or graphics ***** or something similiar. I think this is little hypocritical behavior

Somethng simple would probably do in my opinion. Unfortunately sometimes communities just can;'t get along as much as people would like and really do need to be separated... It's a shame when it happens though because everybody should share with each other their enjoyment and experiences of the games with everybody else regardless of platform.

Just my own opinion though .

It's not about taking the "system wars" too seriously. It just creates noise without a purpose. Contrary to what you say the community is already clearly divided along these lines.

Different platforms, different control methods, different multiplayer considerations, different groups of players or clans, etc... There are at least as many differences as there are similarities and it ends up muddling every thread. You shouldn't have to read past page one of the forums to see how vastly different things are. Thread after thread gets derailed by discussions/arguments over the differences.

I've seen such segregation in action, too many times, it would always end causing more problems than solving. Of course I understand such segregation for competitive games, but not for MMO/multiplayer games.

btw, I'm one of the biggest noisemakers here, but even I'm not taking it all that seriously...Just seriously enough not to get banned

What problems exactly would it cause? A thread that's actually discussing the topic rather than devolving into a PC/console debate? Because that's what said "noise" always seems to accomplish.

Oh let's see, one group of community getting the shorter end of the stick in terms of communication? Keeping more noisy part of community in mind when balancing the game before releasing patch? Ignoring bug reports? Dividing staff in order to handle two large groups, on two separate forums?

Basically it's like having both hands not knowing what each other does.

Most companies these day have all forum sections unified, with the exception of support forums and things are all fine.

Above all else, you're forgetting one important part about MMOs-forums are the source of knowledge for MMO gamers, the more people frequent forums the more useful information is posted on them.
