It may be that there's nothing that can be done to rectify the problem, but I still want to write about it.
Many of us are aware of the many technical issues the multiplayer FC3 is experiencing.
Yet, even with all those problems, I still think this game is the best multiplayer FPS currently available for the PC.
However, very recently hackers have multiplied on the multiplayer lobbies. There were some before, every now and again, but now it seems they are there every single night.
The hacks have also become much more blatant than before. The new breed of hacker seem completely comfortable with everyone knowing they are cheating.
Is there a way to get these sad individuals banned? They are completely ruining the game for me and thousands of other honest gamers.
The hacks in question?
-Speed hack, a very aggressive one (player moving from map edge to another in ~4 seconds), player only visible once every 6 meters or so
-Wall hack: player can see all enemy players all the time
-Auto aim: player can shoot one-shot kills from the other edge of the map - and even through walls and objects - auto aim also works on grenades and bazooka
-Unlimited ammo and grenades
-Jump hack: players are able to travel on top of buildings and structures, where it is normally impossible to climb
Before you think I don't know what I'm talking about, let me tell you that I have over ten million XP on multiplayer and I rank within 120 top players world wide. My many clan members can also confirm the hacks..
If anyone from Ubisoft is reading, can you please tell us if the problem can be solved. Thank you.
Hello,
Far Cry 3 uses Punkbuster to protect from cheaters and hackers.
Please use the in-game reporting system when you suspect cheating. If there's a suspected cheat being used, you can report it at research@evenbalance.com
Thank you!
useless, ...... nobody does anything:
the "Forum Manager" refer to open a technical ticket, they respond that only the "Forum Manager" can do actions;....
if then write reports to research@evenbalance.com, they'll thank you.. and nothing happens...in both statistics and mp game.
(but statistics are really shameful, like everything in mp) = I do not play anymore mp for many many months ... now I see how everything has unchanged!!!
(ops..sorry .....the idiots are increased) so I will not play more ...it is not fun...
if fc4 will not have dedicated servers > never buy it!!
bye bye fc3
Have to agree with you on this one mrtmrc. Although there is a .. not so good side to dedicated servers (childish admin proving anyone can rent a server), but the good side was that responsible admin could monitor and control his own game. In the early day's of Mohaa, they had First Person perspective in spectate mode. We admin would suspect a cheater, we could put on the "skins" go into spectate mode and see what the suspected cheater was seeing. We could see him tracking people though walls and ban him from the servers. Often, we would record the incidents to have on file in case the cheater came into the forums complaining of being wrongly banned. (We never publicized the vids, but would pass them along to the accused .. and case closed).
There have been some recent AAA titles that did not include a spectator mode what so ever, making it even more difficult to confirm cheaters. We'd have to "Shaddow Specate" (stand behind them and see if we could spot anything .. this was less then 10% accurate and I'm sure we've wrongly banned a few good players simply because we couldn't confirm in time before players started leaving the server in anger.
Obviously due to Punkbuster we are unable to put the skins on any longer. However, I cannot stress how important it is to include a First Person Spectate mode when it comes to observing suspected players. Not as good as being able to see through walls like in the early day's to prove the suspect player was tracking, but still effective to a lesser degree. Video the spectated session and submit for evaluation would in my opinion improve the responses times from the games customer service department.
Allow me this, in case the conversation turns in this direction ... I (we) understand that while in spectater mode a team could use it to spy on the other side. Back in the day, we only allowed a player to go into spec mode for a very short time. Just enough to allow for someone to have time to visit a rest room or get themselves some refreshments. And ONLY between map changes. Clan members on both sides watched for any advantage opportunity guests might be taking after someone went into spec mode. Any team going into spec mode too often was auto kicked and the rules were posted.
Rarely was any player EVER kicked because they were "too good" .. and on those occasions we would always review the vids with the accused. So yeah ... dedicated servers ARE the only way to go. And that said, I have never entered a multiplayer sesson with Far Cry, BECAUSE .. they are not dedicated servers.
Hehe please read this one http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...servers/page13
Apparently UBIsoft thinks they are doing the best they can. "We understand that some of you are sad to hear that dedicated server functionality will not come with the game. We think however that you will find the way we handle multiplayer more than satisfying."
So tell us again UBIsoft how no dedicated servers are the best solution ?
Well, there's always good news :
Since on days like today, just about nothing works in this abandoned, bug-infested game.... Hackers can't join Multiplayer matches either !
How's that?
Plus, since UbiSoft never did anything against hackers (because that would require an act that resembles something like actual Support, which is apparently absolutely prohibited by their company religion), why bother ?
They can't even patch this hotcooked V0.92 internal testing Version that somehow got leaked into retail (god knows how) to V0.93beta. Not even an inch of progress, not even a laughable one.
...It would be downright madness to expect anything from them.
But they somehow (again must be some religious issue, as it defies all logic) expect Players to toss more money at them to purchase future products from them, like we're some extreme form of glutton for punishment or *ugh* into something similar.
If there was a Hack that made this buggy piece of shameful x86 junk run a) stable and b) takes out the entire crappy UPlay component completely - now that's one I'd look out for.
Heck, then I'd rent a dedicated Multiplayer server just for my pleasure.
Face it guys, the game is done. Its remains still limb along like a crippled soldier on the battlefield, but he's abandoned and will die a painful, slow death.
That's FarCry3. That's what all of you can witness any day you attempt (lol) to launch into a multiplayer game. That's UbiSoft.
Want to change that? Put the entire UbiSoft management into Alcatraz, Guantanamo or comparable and setup a simple Gold Skull achievement to regain their freedom :
Play 50 consecutive online games of FarCry3 Team Deathmatch without encountering a single, game-stopping bug.
They'll never be seen again.
They are *******s.I can't even play the game now, everytime I join the lobby the game wont start. It's their fault they wanted to try matchmaker on project this big.It ruined the complete multiplayer, and they are aware of it, they are just having a hard time admitting it like MSV-Vextor.
What was that message again?
"We understand that some of you are sad to hear that dedicated server functionality will not come with the game. We think however that you will find the way we handle multiplayer more than satisfying."
You're right MSV-Vextor I am so satisfied I could s**t.
Congratulations
Unfortunately I bought this game to run on my new i7 system to test it out. I've had bad connections to the server (or whatever is acting as a server) and had other players appear in front of me firing without seeing them coming. I've been shot after turning a corner into cover to avoid being shot. I've gotten shot through solid rock. What gives?
