Anyone else play Origins on Windows 8?
Possible Final Edit:
Looks like my Synology Data Replicator (data backup software) may be conflicting with the game. Kinda strange that this doesn't happen with any other game but if I disable the Synology software then I don't have the issue. The Synology software simply monitors for activity and then backs-up files as they're changed. Maybe Origins has some odd way of modifying the save file that doesn't jive with the Synology software. I'll just have to disable the Synology software when I want to play the game.
Final edit for sure:
So say I let the backup software backup the game save, after that the save is no longer recognized by Rayman Origins. The solution: copy the save file out and then back into the save game folder. The only difference I'm seeing is that after the file is backed-up, the "file is ready for archiving" attribute is unchecked. I haven't tried just checking that box yet.
And finally...
The backup software unchecks the "file is ready for archiving" box in the file properties. If I simply re-check this box, the save then shows up in the game.

Original:
I'm trying to play Rayman Origins on Windows 8 but the game continually fails to recognize saved games after quitting and restarting the game.
If I quit to the title screen and look at my games, I see the saved game, but if I exit the game completely and return, the save is not seen at all. The saves are located in the Documents/My Games/Rayman Origins/Savegame folder and are named Savegame_0/1/2 with appropriate time stamps on them but just aren't recognized. I bought the game through Steam, it is version 1.0.32504. I've tried various compatibility settings but nothing helps.
edit: Tested the game on a Windows 7 machine with my saves copied from my Windows 8 machine and the game recognized my saves immediately. Still needs to be resolved for Windows 8.
edit2: I logged in as Guest in Windows 8 and the game worked properly in recognizing saves after exiting and re-opening. Thinking maybe the game doesn't like that I have a "-" in my username.
