GFX card gets very high temps only with Assassin's Creed

Hey Assassin's Creed has been causing my gfx temps to skyrocket, upwards of 97 degrees.

Skyrim plays at 60fps on max settings, and the temps never get above 76 degrees.

Anyone know why this is happening and have a way to stop it?

This happens because your video card cooler is faulty or you have poorly ventilated PC case.
76 degrees in skyrim with vsync on is too high btw.

It´s not faulty. I have the exact same issue, which also happens with ghost recon future soldier, another ubi game.

On any other game i have 75° max, with ac4 my card reaches 81°, totally ridiculous having 70% gpu usage.

    Please fix this.

Fix what exactly? Hardware is bound to heat up if used. GPU usage does not tell you whole story. You can fully load only 1 thing in the whole rendering pipeline (for example by using 1x1 textures with zero shader work you will bottleneck on render output units) and it will report 100%. You can load everything even and have 60% utilisation at most. And second example will give you higher temperatures.

Nope. 77 is a pretty normal load temp for EVGA GTX 590. Max temp is supposed to be 97. Look it up instead of just being right about everything.

Consensus is I've got one of the better air cooled cases on the market. CPU is liquid cooled. Everything in my case is cool except the GPU. Only becomes not cool when I run the first Assassin's Creed. Precision X says my fan works, I've recently cleaned it. I've recently reinstalled AC1 and I still have this problem.

I came here seeking answers and I get chastised by a senior member. Pretty glad I pre-ordered Watch Dogs for the PS4. Considering not even purchasing the newer Assassin's Creeds.
