    What if Ubisoft will close servers one day? Game will be "dead" like Motor City Online or Ubisoft will relase offline patch? This is important question for me because I'm playing many "old" games NFS Porsche from time to time, Test Drive Unlimited and other. I have these games since their relase. With The Crew might be same, especially when this game reminds me TDU1.

    It should be safe to guess they haven't planned for what they will do when the game dies.

    you know, when you develop a game for 6 years or how long did it take, you don't really think about what will happen when you will have to stop supporting it and close the servers... they have enough time to think about it later

    I will pass your question along as the information we have at the moment doesn't really go into what would happen if the your connection disconnects;

    'There are many driving addicts among you enjoying playing by themselves so we have made sure you could enjoy our vast driving playground by yourself. That said we believe having other live players around you stimulates your progression and brings in more fun.

    So the choice is yours to play on your own or to team up on the go with friends to accomplish collective challenges. Of course you’ll always have someone next to you, ready to jump into new challenges either with or against you but you can decide to play a mission on your own, then change your mind and invite a friend to play it with or just freedrive with old and new friends to explore our world in search of a landmark.'
    Ok my question is what about every time sony network is down..? Like Christmas days, why I can drive my favor game? And what about after a few years when ubisoft release a new game same type or the crew 2, what happen next? We can't play anymore and we have lost 70€. I think you should think seriously a offline mode you in ubisoft or ivory. Thanks.

    That`s one serious necro m8!
    Regarding the game tho - well, since a lot of content and especially world handling is done serverside it`s rather unlikely Crew will ever become offline. There`s are few examples of such semi-mmos makeing changes like you suggest, but Crew is just not that caliber of the project. Besides, theses a LOT of features that will be useless without internet sync, like challenges or factions. I suppose server shutoff at the end of game`s life cycle is something you account for when buying online only game - that`s one feature that they never really lied about, surprisingly. To my knowledge anyways.

    Cheers!

    I just have one problem with that: it's absolute bull

    Most of the event offers I get are terribly one-sided given the drastic differences in leveling, and even when this is not the case, I have found that fluctuations in connectivity which have no effect on other online programs result in frequent delays of several seconds at time. Can't win that way. And given that it doesn't work right, the only real effects to online mode only are 1)It gets in the way when other players decide to try the same skills as you, resulting in crashes with invisible vehicles, 2)You can lose more than an hour's worth of progress, and 3)the only real advantage of online only gaming belongs to the game makers, as it gives them control and is an effective copyright infringement deterrant.

    The truth is that every game needs offline capability, if for no other reason than to accommodate players with slow service. Unless service somehow overcomes limitations imposed by the speed of light, this will always be true.

    The fact that management claims online only enhances even single player gaming only shows that they don't care about their clients. Just so management doesn't get confused, I'm talking about the gamers, not the shareholders. Which, I imagine, is quite the relief.

    Well, it is very safe to state now that the whole always online is absolutely not needed at for this game. It's a mess, we all suffer from it. This should have been a offline game with multiplayer online options. That way it would have worked well. Now, due to the whole always online we face many problems and a number of things don't work. If this game would have allowed a local save games, we wouldn't have all these connection and loosing stats issues.

    I have a question . . .

    Can someone please tell me that the way to get 1299 points is to get all varities of the level 50 platinum ?

    I have level 50 on everything on 2 cars but it only reaches 1267, a friend has everything and it reaches 1283, so all I can think of is that we need all varieties of each level 50 to reach 1299 ?

    Can anyone confirm ?
