There's a perk that allows that? I don't remember that it was possible.
Maybe you are confusing with the ziplines...

lol My bad. I read too quickly his post. It was late here e_e
What my mind thought about was zzzzzZZZiplines.. lol
I'm thinking that when players heal while their health is down to the last health bar, I would suggest that the player would have to stand still and heal like in Far Cry 2 than in Far Cry 3. In Far Cry 3, you can heal yourself while you can move around and jump. If syringes are the only way to heal players, then what about if the player ran out of syringes?Originally Posted by xRaDRoacHx Go to original post
Although I like the idea that in Far Cry Instincts, Evolution and Predator allowed players to shoot from hang gliders, I think it is unrealistic like shooting players while climbing a ladder.Originally Posted by Gnome Scat II Go to original post
Only in Far Cry Instincts, Evolution and Predator.Originally Posted by FR_Player-One Go to original post
hello I would like to request a feature of dedicated servers to come back to far cry 4.
Dedicated servers was absolutely amazing in far cry 2. not having this feature in far cry 3 absolutely devastated me. Me being disabled and missing the lower half of my left arm is quite difficult to play games. No one caters to people that have missing limbs that want to enjoy playing video games. when you mod your controller with buttons and triggers and positions that are more comfortable and easier to access based on your condition, Microsoft decides to ban you. So is extremely displeasing when you thoroughly enjoyed a game that you and your friends can collaborate designed anything that your imagination can assemble from the preset parameters in far cry 2; Then a newer version comes out, your force to play with random strangers and maps that you have no control over. There is no doubt that far cry three has improved their multi-player engine but taking away dedicated servers I believe is a major mistake. You no longer can host tournaments and set up custom matches on a predetermined schedule with you and your pals. People know your name and know that you are a great map designer therefore people know to join your matches and look forward to those certain individuals hosting on a weekly or daily basis. Sure I can get on Xbox live and link up with the party feature and join friends that are also playing far cry 3. we can even host their own matches and set up maps that we design to play on within the playlist. But nobody can see that we are hosting on unless you are on our friends list. And we all know that friends list has a limitation on how many friends you have. And that being said it's just limited by itself. It's not the same as having dedicated server, way more work involved. But I guess it can be done.
When using the UBsoft or far cry 3 playlist, you have no control over the map or environment that you want to introduce to the players that are connecting with you. For cry 2 reminds me so much of unreal tournament with their dedicated servers. This is what separates far cry 2 from all the rest of the multiplayer games.
From the few pleasures I have in this life, playing far cry 2 with dedicated servers has been one of the best gaming experiences. If not the best multiplayer gaming experience I've ever played. It's hard enough for me having one handed life and now one of my favorite game developers decides to destroy for cry 3 multiplayer without dedicated servers. I cannot express how much this feature would mean to people if it were brought back in far cry 4. this is what makes far cry great. Without it, it is very hard to distinguish it from other multiplayer games. I absolutely love playing the campaign in far cry 3. I tell everybody about it and I practically become a salesperson and do so much PR for your company and this title. The physics are absolutely amazing but the game is not perfect. It could be if it had dedicated servers. I can't believe that that was my only complaint about this title. But I believe it is the most important aspect of multiplayer. You once had a democracy by using this feature. The voting system, the ability to choose who you wanted to play with and what servers. The ability to host a set of custom maps that are hopefully of good quality and great gameplay experience. Now I feel like a democracy has been removed.
It is not been easy typing all this. This love I have for dedicated servers in far cry 2 and it weighs heavy in my thoughts all the time. I hope that you UBsoft highly considers what is written here does not overlook it like so many other post that I have read back in December about dedicated servers on far cry 3. so please consider the option dedicated servers in far cry 4.
My profile:
Single player only playing first person shooter on xbox
1. Animals are fun and good addition
2. Missing malaria and weapon jamming from FC2, upsetting but spiced up the game.
3. Reset of outpost was good in FC2, but not as diversified as FC3
It is a walk in the park once all outposts are cleared
4. Stealth action is good, probably enough for most players
5. Sniping could improve a bit and the possibility to lay flat on the floor.
6. Glider, parachute are good
7. Driving is enough (for me) cars, trucks, jeeps and boats.
8. Ability to skip cut scenes (I am here to play)
9. A true map with elevations, tracks, roads, buildings...
10. More Al located outside outposts. (I enjoy firing loud and having these Al coming to check out)
11. I like the facts that we can observe outposts prior taking it down and decide of the tactic.
However bodies are some time discovered while been hidden.
12. Killing mission goals in FC2 were more interesting together with the phone call that would make you travel further.
13. Hard should very REALLY hard.
14. Keep it an open world at ALL time.
15. Killing Hoyt could have been so much fun if able to attack the compound killing everyone before reaching him.
Hello ubisoft, I am happy to hear you will release FC4, but hope you can make one or two changes to make it the perfect game FC3 almost was!
1) Multiplayer:
- The servers didn't really work, nobody could join anyone's game, you could sit in a lobby for 20 mins and still nothing, please fix this as it broke multiplayer, maybe add dedicated servers. FC2 always worked quite well in this regard and would often have full lobbied matches in no time.
- More universal lobbies with nice ability to edit them (not have time settings as "long, very long" but numbers etc) and ability to change many features, voting etc; allowing people to be more in control of their games rather than feeling like they must go by parameters set by the dev team.
- More fun lobbies, so more than just a dark screen with a box and names, maybe something similar to what I heard Rainbow Six Patriots will feature? (physical avatars in a pre-match place)
- Allowing the holographic kill cam and button bash revive to be only perks as they got annoying after awhile being stuck with them (maybe instead a default killcam being a cinematic bullet etc hitting the player or something)
- Please don't gear the lobbies so towards the default maps, make it as much about user maps! In FC2 people only played usermaps as their quality was impressive, and there was little to no emphasis on default maps whereas in FC3 the 1st and 2nd (I think) headings are only for them, along with leveling up etc. I can understand this is to avoid cheating and unfair leveling up, but there might be a work around?
- A big one, please allow the cover and fire system in multiplayer! It was fluid and worked great compared to most games, yet was removed for some reason. Removing it removes a ton of depth and fun firefights, leaving people mainly running around shooting others in the back like Call of Duty. Also due to the more limited map editor (in terms of memory or resources) the cover and fire system would've gone nicely with more close quartered levels.
- MP vehicles, you probably saw this coming, vehicles make people work together (3 people in a car, one driving, two shooting) and are a ton of fun, no vehicles make everyone go lone wolf in different directions usually and is more boring. Don't make your game more akin to call of duty, please bring back all those vehicles!! On user maps also even if vehicles couldn't be used to get from one side of a map to another, maybe due to not fitting through a door, they were still fun just for the area they were in, be it a car park etc as they were a move shield or turret, just adding more dynamic gameplay really.
- Along with the above, maybe allow addition of MP weapon placement on maps and turrets, this gives it that classic feel and rewards people for getting to difficult neutral locations, or lets lower level people have a chance to use more powered weapons than their current loadout allows.
- Killstreaks, these were interesting but felt pretty limited, a radar, barrel bomb and psycho gas are all I remember, if these stay please add a variety of killstreaks, maybe a vehicle airdrop to your location that you can choose depending on level etc, or a weapon airdrop in the same fashion.
- If possible the wildlife would make a fun addition to MP matches, perhaps making two apposing teams work together for a second to take down a greater threat (bears etc) or use such threats to their advantage, but also making the MP map feel more alive.
- Player customization like in FC instincts evolution, where people could select a faction then edit a chosen character within. Would be a nice addition to MP rather than just a tattoo.
- A perk or equipment unlock where people can get a parachute, and then the wingsuit, or maybe a diver suit allowing them to stay submerged.
- Finally, maybe add a different background and music for when entering multiplayer to show it's really a separate feature to the other modes.
2) Map editor:
- I was sad that it was so restricted compared to FC2, please increase the objects allowed in each grid greatly! Before the memory bar is a quarter near full with no game stutter, it says no more objects, this often ruins potential maps meaning they must be abandoned or streamlined greatly, reducing detail etc.
- The ability to make terrorist hunt inspired challenges/missions that are separate from multiplayer, where people make their own map and place AI in positions maybe with A - B paths or looped paths etc, then people can play alone or work together like taking down compounds and fight for the best time and score etc, maybe wild life could be used in the same fashion letting people make their own hunting ground type missions. (people in FC2 would think outside the box and make racing maps with vehicles)
- Maybe even more vehicles? Like a dirt bike, hover craft, truck etc.
- A set that is of modern pieces, windows, doors, walls you'd get in the modern world.
3) Co-op:
- Letting people play together in singleplayer would be great, allowing for free roam in between missions, as the FC3 co-op felt rushed and very linear/on the rails.
4) Single player:
- It was very enjoyable, maybe add more healing animations like FC2 and weapon jamming, and ability to change outfits like wingsuit etc.
- Weapons of some sort or knife use under water.
- Traps like in past games, branch whip trap etc were fun.
- Ability to go prone and crawl along.
But otherwise cant really fault it!
5) Ideas:
- I would say about singleplayer as an idea, how about making it so people must, kill it cook it eat it if in a tropical survival type setting, and make it so people must drink water and monitor body heat etc, or at least as a hardcore mode. Camouflage too could even play a role maybe.
- A multiplayer game mode, where you're in a guerrilla/jungle/forest setting (unless it's on a user map) and it's 1 player hunted by everyone else in the lobby. Mostly be how long they can survive unless they can kill everyone giving them a good reward.
- A multiplayer game mode, like virus/infected in Halo/Call of Duty/Time Splitters (these game modes are always great fun)
- Going back to terrorist hunt inspired challenges and path scripted AI, maybe allow people more freedom to make their own little story missions, reminiscent of Timesplitters, though that's more farfetched.
Thank you for reading!
