We did have certain amount of wishes that came true in Far Cry 3, such as hostile animals and co-op. This thread will be dedicated for Far Cry 4, and hopefully Ubisoft will pay attention to their fans like they have in Splinter Cell Blacklist (Like the Blacklist Checklist), Assassin's Creed II, and the single player of Far Cry 3. Users in this forum are free to add suggestions in hope for a far more impressive sequel than a game that lead to disappointment. Ubisoft definitely listens to their fans for other games that allowed significant leap of improvements. For every suggestion from each post in this thread, it will be seen in the first post for I will edit and add on.

This wishlist does not mean to remove any features from Far Cry 3. I prefer to keep the features that are introduced such as the abilities unlocked through the skill tree in Far Cry 3 while improving the game as a whole for the sequel. Let's start off with my post:

    Far Cry 4 Wishlist

    Gameplay
    • Return of Humvees
    • Return of Hovercraft
    • Return of Inflatable Boat
    • Return of Transport Trucks (Able to carry a large amount of enemies/players)
    • Ability to set up traps (Branch whip and claymores)
    • On the hardest difficulty, disable arrow detecting notifications and marking enemies
    • Able to attack with a knife while swimming
    • Pilotable helicopters
    • Captured outposts can be attacked by enemy factions
    • For single player, you are able to hire class specific mercenaries. Specific classes such as: Light infantry, Sniper, Charger (or shotgun guy), medic. With mercenaries accompanying the player, medics have the ability to revive the player only once. Each mercenary can be customized to the player's play style, such as specific guns and attachments. You can only hire four mercenaries at a time if all are able to fit in one vehicle, or accompany the player with a separate vehicle. You should be able to order them around. Each specific mercenary has their own price in order to be hired (Improved buddy system from Far Cry 2, but much like the Assassin recruits and Mercenaries from Assassin's Creed II and Brotherhood. Also add a balance to prevent from being overpowered)
    • If the player can use the same vehicle from safehouses, the player should be allowed to place weapons, ammo, first aid kits, etc. in the trunk or passenger seats.
    • Able to carry bodies around to hide evidence, but also allowed to use single handed weapons. And also for teammates to move them to safety, therefore you can heal them.
    • Able to wear different outfits such as the disguise from Far Cry 3.
    • Autosell all animal skins (If you already crafted everything, there's no purpose for animal skins but selling them)
    • Ability to dual wield weapons (From Far Cry Instincts)
    • Return of equiping single handed weapons while driving (From Far Cry Instincts)
    • Fire propagation spreading on gasoline
    • By holding LB, there should be two selection wheels, D-Pad selection instead of just one selection wheel. This should separate weapons and throwing things like grenades, molotovs, rocks, syringe, etc.)
    • Return prone (From Far Cry on the PC and Far Cry Instincts)
    • Select rocks in the selection wheel (Along with grenades and molotovs), instead of using the right d-pad. You should be able to throw rocks with the right bumper
    • Rock climbing (From Far Cry Instincts Evolution)
    • Rappelling (From Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six Vegas)
    • Car honking with the left analog click (From Far Cry Instincts multiplayer)
    • Roll back when prone (From Far Cry Instincts single player)
    • Passenger seats allow players to use any weapon and throw grenades, molotovs, etc.
    • When selecting grenades, molotov cocktails, etc. from selection wheel, players can hold it on their hand without activating it until pressing right trigger (Also, if grenades are not selected, players can still throw them via right bumper when on foot)
    • New Ability: While sprinting, click the left analog stick again to tackle enemies to the ground and stab them, but you cannot perform chain takedown, grenade takedown, takedown drag, knife throw takedown, or a gunslinger takedown afterwards (This may guarantee a melee takedown to one enemy as opposed to a takedown that can be halted, but you cannot have an extension towards this type of takedown)
    • New Ability: While sprinting, hold A to dive and prone (If you tap A, you simply jump)
    • New Ability: While sprinting, hold B to slide and lie on your back (See "roll back. This is opposed to tap B when you slide and crouch. Also, press B to stand up)
    • New Ability: While sliding, you can fire your gun at enemies
    • While lying on your back, prone, or roll back, you can go underneath areas where standing and crouching is not allowed
    • While sliding, you can knock down enemies (Like in Splinter Cell Conviction)
    • Return of weapon jamming and degradation from Far Cry 2. You can see the status of the weapon on your HUD, and you can use a cleaning kit to clean your weapon. (Suggested by xRaDRoacHx)

    Terrain, Structures and Environment:
    • Urban, concrete with street lines
    • Lava, Magma, and volcanoes (Much like the very last level "Black Forest" in Far Cry Instincts)
    • Snowy environment, specifically for mountains. Also frozen water.
    • Destructible trees (Like in Far Cry 2, such as shooting off branches)
    • Destructible environments
    • Jungle biome with tree houses (Far Cry Instincts Evolution)
    • Desert biome (From Far Cry 2)
    • Swamps
    • Tornadoes (From a specific scene from Far Cry 3) or devastating hurricane affecting the archipelago islands, thus flooding the environment
    • Return of Research Facilities (Like on Far Cry Instincts and the original Far Cry)
    • Return of Military Bases (Instead of just “outposts”)
    • Return of refineries (From Far Cry Instincts Evolution/Predator)
    • Rain Forest biome
    • Return of Sub Aquatic Facilities (From Far Cry Instincts)

    Single Player and AI:
    • Spec Ops (Such as enemies seen in the later levels in Far Cry Instincts, far more deadlier than Privateers. These guys can throw flashbangs, incendiary grenades instead of Molotovs, smoke bombs, etc. and use Night Vision Goggles)
    • Reinforcements rappelling down from helicopters
    • Return of scientists (No, not the ones from Blood Dragon)
    • Able to choose specific story missions and chapters even if the game is complete
    • Return of beds so you can change or fast-foward the time of day by sleeping (From Far Cry 2)
    • Longer developed introduction to single player. (In Far Cry 3, it shows the player and his brother captured after a montage. Instead, you should experience skydiving and how you got caught for example)
    • A mission, or just a place where the player can enter the mines and spend hours in it (Much like the level "Mines" from Far Cry Instincts)
    • Increase enemy's line of sight distance
    • Enemy camps and patrols (Not just outposts)
    • Snipers without red lasers

    Multiplayer:
    • Open world multiplayer with at least 16 (or up to 32) players running around (Like Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV)
    • Open world co-op, even if it takes place on separate islands away from single player)
    • Create and edit your avatar (Like Far Cry Instincts Multiplayer)
    • In addition to custom playable avatars, play as a female
    • No mashing "Cling to life" (This only exhausts the thumb, especially if no one is out there to revive you)
    • Drivable vehicles
    • Allow players to play as the privateers in multiplayer
    • Three and/or more playable factions (In Far Cry Instincts, you can have up to 4 teams fighting each other: Red, Blue, Green and Gold)
    • Turrets (Like in previous Far Cry games)
    • Return of the Predator game mode (Multiplayer only)
    • Return of free for all deathmatch
    • Return of Capture the Flag (Such as Steal the Sample or Capture the Diamond)
    • Return of “Seek and Secure” game mode (Basically King of the Hill from Halo)
    • Return of Assault (From the original Far Cry on the PC)

    • Increase player count back to 32 (From Far Cry on the PC)
    • Able to start a match alone without the need of required minimum players

    • Custom maps placed in playlists while hosting
    • Give the host the option to end match, or change maps in-game (Not in matchmaking)
    • Voting what map, rules, gamemode, etc. in the lobby (From Far Cry Instincts)
    • Voting in-game such as extending time, change maps, etc (From Far Cry 2)
    • Keep 2 weapons only in loadout, but allow players to pick up 2 more weapons from bodies or from placed and spawned weapons throughout the map

There is no need to quote the entire post. The sole purpose of this topic is as it is: a wishlist. There are wishes that I had wrote that actually corresponds to the community's demands, especially multiplayer that is demanded to be fixed. I really doubt that many will disagree with my wishlist. Take a look at Splinter Cell Conviction, for example, the hardcore Splinter Cell fans wanted a lot of returning features from the previous Splinter Cell games, and Ubisoft Toronto and Montreal actually listened and responded to the community by adding them back while also being open to casual players for Splinter Cell Blacklist. The community complained about Assassin's Creed 1, and Ubisoft Montreal definitely listened to the community to fix almost every single problem for the sequel Assassin's Creed II.

I may be a new member, but that dosent mean I haven't played a heck a lot of far cry in my time, a few things for reference, I agree with everything here, but I would also like melee in map editor, for fun stealth creations, snow, return of vehicles in multiplayer (More realism in harder single player modes, like gun jamming, disease, dehydration ect. I liked the fire effects but a little more destruction wouldn't hurt. Last but certainly not least( I cannot stress this enough)- especially on console. One of the things I looked foreword to the most was a (large amount of effects and details in the map editor, you improved in multiplayer, which is good but in my opinion for lack of better words people including myself enjoyed far cry 2 for its large single player editor, creating cool missions and scenarios that came to imagination for endless possibilities and enjoyment- I'm saying people enjoyed the singleplayer aspect of the editor very much, being able to create was and always will be an outstanding feature, in far cry 4 I would like to see( ai path and hostility settings, ai story and reaction settings, ( city environments with roads and cars,) written screen dialogue for your custom mission(drivable aircraft) a good example of this, and ai functionality is infamous 2 Ugc creator, where people could create a through story complete with dialogue and ai settings that not only improved the game, but also didn't take away from core player experience( as in didn't restrict any abilities - as in far cry 3s case in map editor-melee and customization. Then after creating the map you shared it for everyone else to play, which is amazing. My point is please don't leave the people who enjoyed the editor for its single player experience, out in the cold. Thank you.

thanks, you made a good list

As for the health system, you need to elaborate more. The health system in Far Cry 3 multiplayer and co-op is different compared to single player. I did mention that the health system from single player should carry over to multiplayer.
I would like that they get back to the FC2 health system
In SP you needed the needles for gain health.
In MP there was more or less the same health system in FC3, without any needles... You can simply gain health by removing bullets (healing animations) etc.

Also, raising the difficulty in Far Cry 3 while you, as the player, lack Jason' tattoo abilities, reduced health bars, etc. is already tough.
This is why I want the abilites on default (without the need of buy them) or have the health perks removed from abilities menu and make the health system like FC2.

I added more of my wishes to the list.
Great. Let's see if any other guy can suggest something

Oh, and you don't mind if I add you on Steam and Xbox Live?
    Sure add me.

Because in Canada they actually have internet. Unlike Ubisoft Massive, haha.

I'm generally all ok with the complete whishlist
The only points I will mention, that I really want back for SP (and MP in some way) is :
    - health animations (back from FC2, they were awesome) , more of it ! more various ones (I got tired of breaking my thumb for the 12.764 th times)
    - weapons degradation , I want weapons to be degraded (like when the bullets are stuck, rocket fails, etc, things that can happen in real life, the animations were amazing and that was fun, back in FC2 again) but I didn't like the weapons jamming / breaking (just my opinion, even tho if was fun)

I agree, I suggested a status index and a cleaning kit for the wep jamming. FC 2 health animations must return with the same FC2 health system.

Or just go back to Far Cry 2 and improve things from there. FC3 was annoying and bland, didn't have anything special, and it was piss easy.

I do like the healing system in Far Cry 2's multiplayer than Far Cry 3's multiplayer. I much prefer the player to fully heal through healing animations in multiplayer.

If the abilities are set to default, then that defeats the purpose of character progression implemented in Far Cry 3. The health system in Far Cry 3 single player is very much like the health system in Far Cry 2, it's just that Ubisoft Montreal decided that the character progression rewards the players for leveling up. Judging how crafting medicine in Far Cry 3 is rather easy to manage due to the fact that you simply need to harvest green leaves, and you would only be able to heal two bars of health than completely until you spend your skill points on upgrading your health and healing.

Ubisoft Massive shouldn't leave Far Cry 3's multiplayer and co-op as merely a side project, but I guess they tried to be innovative while also stripping features away.

The reason why Far Cry 2 had more healing animations than Far Cry 3 was simply because the player did not move while healing, whereas in Far Cry 3, the player is always mobile even when healing. I do agree, there should be far more animations that should have been presented.
I did add the feature of weapon degradation into the list as suggested by xRaDRoacHx.

The thing is, they did fix many problems that had existed in Far Cry 2 while also introducing new features for Far Cry 3. You say Far Cry 3 was "annoying and bland", yet Far Cry 2 annoyed players with things such as malaria and was criticized for having bland missions.

This game has been abandoned by the devs. They are working full-time on another game (The Division), and will not be adding or changing anything else in FC3.

It will be a whole new dev team that works on FC4. They will have no interest in 'fixing' anything or hearing any suggestions.

Besides, FC3 was a great success...what's there to fix?
