Uplay Client Offline-Online Logging-in Bug with new password | Forums

Hi,

I seem to notice a bug logging on Uplay. After the recent security update to change the password on uplay account I've notice logging in with your new password doesn't work on the client.

If you have already set your Uplay client to Remember Me and Always start in Offline Mode then try to use your new updated password by hitting GO Online to login again, somehow Uplay client doesn't able to use new details you typed on the input field. It will keep saying wrong email or password. I tried resetting my password 3x but doesn't seem to accept the account details and still keep saying wrong email or password. Well the trick to get around this is set the client again to always start online mode by Unchecking / Disable Always start in Offline Mode then restart the Uplay client and login again. This time it works okay .

It seems Uplay client on offline mode then going to online mode keeps on using the previous access details and does not read the new access details you type on the login fields.

If you experienced this problem this is the trick to get around it.

Ubisoft/Uplay should check on this.

Things works for now until my next password reset. This may not be a top notch bug but surely will be annoying for users who uses offline mode on startup and decide to change password.

Looking forward to the next Uplay update.

Had the same problem as the OP, found this thread by googling. Almost a year and still no fix? Terrible.

Thank you for highlighting the fact that the issue is ongoing. As the original posted mentioned, there is a simple fix (temporarily turning off the "Always start offline" feature), but I will raise the issue again to keep it in the mind of the developers working on future patches.

More than a year later, this bug still exist . I just did this and finally able to login

Someone should make this sticky
