Quote... I think BoS s a descendant of L2 but not a continuation of CoD.

It will be using RoF and CloD.

Only some of the models from CoD's BoM will be used.. the rest is all new and from an RoF code base.

I have version 4.11.1 installed now with no mods. However I cannot get V 4.12 to install, running windows 7/ 64 bit. Even if I manually choose where to install, no luck. The download from Mission appears to be successful. Anyone else experiencing this ? If so, what have you done to install ?

My old computer crashed and I want to re-install 1946. I have my original redemption code from 2007 but I don't no where to go to download the game. I would appreciate your help. I tried to contact ubi but they won't respond back.

That might be the source of the problem then...Windows security feature preventing any program changes. You could try creating a new folder ( I just call mine Games) and move IL2 46 there and then try to update again into that folder. No need to re-install...it should just drop in the new folder when you move it.. That's what I did when I got this game and installed it on my current PC.

Yeah that was what I was getting at... I can't help but think that this is related to that Read Only attribute bug in W7. That they would have folders set at Read Only as default is mind boggling to me..

Ubisoft isn't selling IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 anymore and I don't know where you can download it from their site. I do know where you can get another digital download version for under ten dollars though.

The Good Old Games digital download version doesn't have any type of DRM and it won't give these types of headaches in the future.

To date "no one" that I have recommended this version to has been unable to get it working.
