We don't know.
In interviews the devs have said that it is a "one shard, one world, one server" game. But if that means cross platform I don't know. It would be a first AFAIK and I don't even know if it is possible with the differences between XbOne and PS4 (and later possibly PC).
I recommend that you ask the question in this thread as well. http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...ComDev-Q-amp-A
If we're lucky they will answer it.
I don't recall any game that willingly had Xbox and PS players in a shared world. I've seen PC and Consoles join up, but never the two alone. I could be mistaken, but I'd think the rivalry of the two systems would make such games rather "energetic" Nothing wrong with that, but the difference in system could be compared to the same difference in PC to console. They function differently and might not play well together. Worth a shot, but who else can foresee people starting clans based on PS or Xbox fandom? I can only hope voice chat is restricted to you own team to avoid the arguments and trash talk that might ensue.
Actually, the reasons they haven't done cross platform on console online before is because of the certification processes Sony and Microsoft use. Since the developers can't control when a patch goes live on the current consoles, they would have to take the full server down until all platforms had the same update or restrict the first platforms to adopt the new patch to a separate server while the one that lags runs on the old servers.Originally Posted by Blackatix Go to original post
That's true. Any word if they are changing their policies by the way? I don't recall hearing anything about it.Originally Posted by roribeedm Go to original post
I'll never understand these console wars. We're all gamers right?Originally Posted by kingofAR Go to original post
After the entire E3 thing where Microsoft sulked away while Sony enjoyed the spotlight, I honestly cant see them putting aside difference to allow there players of both consoles to play together. If I remember right defiance was going to be multi platform, but that didn't happen due to Sony/Microsoft bitterness.
