This logic is extremely flawed and makes way too many assumptions... Console gamers dwarf PC gamers in population size. The Xbox One and PS4 sold out on their initial Amazon inventory in less than a day.

To say that console sales are in danger due to one game is silly and misguided.

In 2012 (latest released financial statement) Ubisoft's revenue by platform shows that 7% of its sales go to PC releases while the Wii made up the largest percentage of sales at 33%. If you're going to make an argument, it should be that such a huge portion of their consumer base was left out. If you'd think about that argument you'd know that the Wii and the Wii U don't have the hardware to handle a game like this. The only people being ostracized are the PC gamers.

Is it costly to port games to the PC from next-gen? No. The ps4 uses x84 so it would be tremendously easier than the previous generations to handle.

Your recommendation is that Ubisoft ignore a loyal player base that made up half a million sales for Far Cry 3 so that they don't risk the sales of consoles that are outperforming projected sales currently...

    ----------------

This was unorganized but i got my point across and am studying for an accounting final... thanks for the real-life practice though!

Because Ubisoft makes the vast majority of their revenue from consoles and only a small percentage from PC. Do the right thing and help cultivate these next-gen platforms be keeping the game exclusive.
You know that there is a poll in one of the two pc topics? Just vote with no if you don't want to have a pc version and don't want that PC gamers can play this game....

And Ubisoft ist not the company that manufactures a console so they don't have to bring new users to one of the consoles with their games. It's up to MS and Sony to develop exclusives and not up to independent publishers and developers. They should care about all their loyal fans and bring their games to as much people as possible.

Your argument is ******** after all: if Ubisoft continue to develop games for ALL platforms they don't have to care about how many people are on which platform because they reach every gamer anyway. You only need a huge userbase IF you leave one or more platforms out....

Why do you care about how many people will buy a console? Are you working for MS or Sony?

If a pc version is released, its only going to be a lot after the console versions are out... so people who play consoles will buy it on consoles anyway and I dont think it will hurt the console sales

I'm sorry...I'm still finding your logic to be a tad out-of-date....

In the beginning for the console era, exclusives were a must...but now that the saturation of Consoles
is so high, this is no longer a valid argument (in MY opinion that is)
The amount of people who will buy the consoles just because they are new is already pretty high.

Also..and this is one thing that has baffled me over the years. How many more copies would Square have sold of the FF games if they hadn't done a
exclusive with Sony ?...and so on...

But again..this is not the main reason why I decided to comment on this post..

The main reason is the utter lack of thought and generall trollishness of so many of these posts. I might be..well..how shall I put it...
biologically adding liquids to the ocean but I feel that reason NEEDS to be re-introduced (hah..game communist and incurable
optimist all rolled into one handy package ) into the gaming communities.

I propose insta bans for trolling and general douchbaggery!

    NO PC version please

This is not because The Division don't come out on PC I'll go buy a console ! So I won't buy the game ! = -1 ( - many PC gamer )

    https://twitter.com/AbsyntheOnside/s...34210809692160

I have a PC with hardware capable of doing everything (with the possibility to upgrade if necessary) I see no reason to buy a box with similar hardware to do things that my PC is able to do ... but with many restrictions in a closed world ! and moreover isn't keyboard/mouse friendly !!!

video game has been invented to entertain and give pleasure to everyone ... feed the body and the spirit of their creators which I hope them also take pleasure to do us fun ... This is not a stingy pleasure for a community of people

    Video games for All !

    The Division for All !

The Division for keyboard/mouse gamers !

    Mom I love you !

    The Division on PC !!!

    Cheers !

if the division DOESNT come out on PC, it'll be minus one sale. They only lose money by not putting it out on the PC.

Wow...this is one of the lamest posts I've ever seen.

That logic makes no sense at all. How does limiting it to 2 consoles increase their bottom line? They also make money off of other platforms like the Wii and handhelds. Should they stop making games for those so people will just buy Xbox One and Ps4? Why not just do everything on PS4 then and make it really simple?

UBI doesn't care about increasing sales for just the manufacturer of those TWO consoles. They will base the platforms that get their games on if the extra programming expense for porting it to something else will make them money. If PC sales only account for 18% of the total sales and that exceeds the costs, then they will do it.

Here's some better logic, companies should start doing PC only so more people will own PCs and not have to play by any of Microsoft's or Sony's or Nintendo's rules for how their games get made and distributed and not have to pay them royalties.

    Not understanding here...
I want to play on a PS4. I don't have a very good computer, and I love console gaming.
But I also want to have people to play with... So if there's away that the online experience is cross platform- then the more the merrier!
