These new consoles are going to need true exclusives like The Division to help build their install base. By releasing a PC version you're only going to be hurting your company because it'll take away sales from consoles. How does it hurt it? Because Ubisoft makes the vast majority of their revenue from consoles and only a small percentage from PC. Do the right thing and help cultivate these next-gen platforms be keeping the game exclusive.
Please reread the original post. It's about cultivating an install base (of consoles, not the game itself) of next-gen platforms (PS4 and Xbox One) by giving them true exclusives. The reason this is important for Ubisoft is because the vast majority of their revenue is from consoles so it's very important for them that PS4 and Xbox One are successful. Giving them true exclusives like The Division helps a great deal with that.Originally Posted by Shubawks Go to original post

The sales charts for the past decade? Look at the breakdown for the Assassin's Creed games, Far Cry games, everything.Originally Posted by Shubawks Go to original post
They have it in their earnings reports as well.
Well, they can either take our money for a PC version or have none at all i know i'm not buying a console.Originally Posted by WAWAMELONS Go to original post![]()
Well earlier a PC port was kinda difficult to do, even for the xbox 360..and straight pots from PS3's was even more horrid...
So studios had to prioritize due to cost..now PC/XBOX One/PS4 all share the same hardware. it's no longer a HUGE financial
undertaking to make a cross platform game. Actually...Now we should be able to get a proper shared platform
(I'm not gonna go into the whole controller issue) But an open world type game NEEDS lots of people playing..it's the
reason most of us play these games..other people..
So statements like "PC Sucks,PS4 sucks, only make if for XBOX ONE..etc etc" only outs people as short sighted,
selfish and having a sad sad sad attitude.
I say...BRING IT ON!..all the platform..all the people...and all the fun!.. for ALL..damn..I'm a Video Game communist![]()
My point is that true exclusives for PS4 and Xbox One are going to help build their install bases. And since the majority of Ubisoft's revenue and profits are from consoles they're going to need PS4 and Xbox One to be very successful. If you put The Division on PC it gives people one less reason to buy one of the new consoles, which in turn only hurts Ubisoft's business.
It's not just one game. The more of these true exclusives there are the more successful these consoles will be and if Ubisoft cares about their bottom line they need the PS4 and Xbox One to sell a lot. Destiny is another game.Originally Posted by Per 1970 Go to original post
